Soooo, now that Veers senior knows about Zevs secrets, doesnt that mean that Zev could also tell him what he knows about Luke?

when Firmus Piett is presumed dead, Max Veers has to reckon with the fact that his feelings were much less casual and platonic than he'd thought. and when Firmus comes back, he gets the chance to say it. heads up- this is pretty sad for most of the fic, since he's essentially grieving. but this angst has a happy ending :]

After the Executor is hit, reports come in-- all hands lost, including one Admiral Firmus Piett.
It hits General Veers harder than he expected it to. They weren't dating, after all. That'd be ludicrous. They were just... close friends. Who spent their evenings together. Who slept together, sometimes. But they weren't in love.
And yet, when the news comes, it hits Veers like a blaster shot. He can't eat, can't work, can't leave his quarters. All he can do is think back on their relationship and ignore poor, adrift Blizzard Force.
At least--until someone shows up, quite displeased that in his absence, General Veers went to pieces. Although it seems Firmus might have missed General Veers, too.
TL;DR: Piett is presumed dead, Veers is super depressed, then (surprise!) Piett isn't dead. And then some kissing.
