pour ceux qui ne seraient pas au courant, le projet d’exploitation de mines d’or profondes en Guyane censé être “arrêté” est de nouveau sur pied ! les gars, ce n’est pas parce que vous renommez “montagne d’or” en “espérance” (surnommé avec justesse “montagne d’or bis” par les médias) qu’on ne va pas voir que vous essayez de nous la mettre. le programme reste le même : déforestation, rejets de CO2 et utilisation de produits chimiques hautement toxiques en plein milieu d’une partie préservée de la forêt amazonienne
le projet est en train d’avancer super discrètement, partagez svp !

a few years back there was a huge gold mining project in french guiana called “montagne d’or” which would have led to deforestation, chemical pollution with highly toxic products and CO2 emissions in a well-preserved part of the amazonian forest. obviously people weren’t very happy about it and the project was “stopped”.
this year (because 2020 sucks and keeps on sucking) a “new” project was approved: it’s called “espérance” (because “gold mountain” was a bit too in-your-face. “hopefulness” is better at not making them look like “greedy and unscrupulous bastards” as Maxbird says so well in this video) but apart from the name it’s pretty much the same project.
they’ve been very discreet, i hadn’t even heard about it before seeing the vid. it looks like they’ve been trying to get it started sneakily while we were all distracted with other stuff, so i’d really appreciate it if you could share this video around so that as many french people as possible can see it and react
