Rags (2012) was THE BEST Nickelodeon movie to EVER be made. It played the Cinderella story arc so beautifully. It produced BOPS. It was an underrated movie!!! Ahead of its time!!! It was the foundation for careers!!!! It gave people inspiration to write fan fiction again. It gave people a new AU for other shows. In this essay I will discuss
Fall Out Boy with MAX and Against the Current
It was absolutely and entirely candy floss pop rock show from the very start with MAX as an opening act to the very end in white and purple confetti. Only a good time. And it’s been a while since there were no dickheads in the crowd around me spoiling the fun night [*cough* The Magic Gang youngster fans *cough*]. Well, there was apparently a situation going on somewhere in the middle of the crowd but Pete quickly calmed the shit down and the show was on fire again.
MAX
Gosh, that boy sparkled onstage. And it wasn’t just sequins on his silver jacket, nor his shirt or shiny silver sneaker. He owned it: from the swagger to dancing moves making your jaw drop to mad singing skills. And audience was his within seconds and bouncing to catchy tunes, channeling disco queens and kings. The air was electronic, the air was filled with laughter. Warm up act? No, it was hot, hot, hot in arena. He’s not new to the scene, you could clearly see it wasn’t his first rodeo but he’s got the style and something to say/offer. He’s definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
Against the Current
Since the last time I’ve seen them [playing before Good Charlotte] Chrissy looked a lot more blond and a lot less rock chic, but gold suits her and she was like a blazing sun that night. She’s the heartbeat of that band and she’s fire, she’s pure energy onstage. The excitement, some sort of freshness coming from them and genuine good vibe makes their show quite something. Their songs vary from subtle ballads to kickass rock anthems you instantly want to sing along. Chrissy’s voice is to become one of the voices of the generation.
FALL OUT BOY
Fall Out Boy is the scene, Fall Out Boy is THE band. They are not afraid to take chances, they’re changing, evolving, experiment and surprise every step on the way yet they manage to still be FALL OUT BOY. Going to their show you expect great fun and hell you’re getting it in spades. You expect the crazy - here you go: llamas hop onstage to entertain the audience on the interval, throw some t-shirts at the crowd. It’s not just a show, it’s a massive production creating an immersive experience that you can’t get enough of. A spectacle with massive whirlwind of emotions going through you when you sing those songs, when you listen to what they say from the stage, when you discover that they’re at the end of the runway that is so long it reaches three quarters of the length of the arena. But that’s not enough of surprise and grandeur: they go up, higher and higher. Performance is taken to a new level. Even the pyro seems bigger and louder, perfectly orchestrated. Just like the visuals so striking you catch yourself watching it with eyes wide open and full attention. And then you have Patrick and his piano solo, fragile but majestic, gentle but full bodied and simply beautiful. And the pace, the colours, the sounds surrounding you make you feel great, fill with positive energy that you that you lost somewhere in the daily routine. The new, the old mixes in a perfect cocktail.
