Le Fort I Maxillary Osteotomy with Superior Positioning This young boy had protruding upper front teeth. He was diagnosed with a skeletal class II malocclusion in our hospital. This is also known as maxillary prognathism. He underwent presurgical decompensation of his maxillary teeth with fixed orthodontics. Once adequate teeth repositioning had been achieved, he underwent a Le Fort I maxillary osteotomy with superior positioning. Resurgery with Maxillary Osteotomy and Rhinoplasty This young lady was involved in a road traffic accident around three years ago and suffered extensive fractures to the left side of her face. There was fracture of both her left maxilla and zygomatic bone. She had undergone emergent surgery at her hometown, which had been shoddily performed. Post surgery, she was left with an open bite and a deviated nasal deformity with flattening of the bridge of nose. She has been having speech difficulties and dietary restrictions since then because of her open bite. Desiring correction of her problems, she had been referred to our hospital for management. A costal rib graft was harvested from the patient. The old plates from her previous surgery were removed through a maxillary vestibular incision. A Le Fort I maxillary osteotomy was then performed to correct her open bite. This was followed by rhinoplasty with augmentation of her nasal bridge with the costal graft.
