HAIR, HAIR, GROW ANYWAY...
Have you ever get envious with Rapunzel for having a magical hair? Well, I’m not envious because it’s magical. I just want to have a long hair like hers. But obviously, it’s still a dream.
Hair. Usually woman are very particular with their hair. As they say, hair is their crowning glory. In western society, hair plays a significant role. It is not only a symbolic indicator of gender but also of social, religious and professional status as well way back thousands of years.
Samson. When we talk about hair, why will we forget Samson? A guy from the Bible who is undefeated when his hair remained long and uncut. His downfall, a woman named Delilah. He fell in love with this girl and shared the secret of his strength.
Long hair? Short hair? Minimum? Maximum?
A friend: Nice, your hair is long. It could be much longer if it is straight. I want my hair to reach my butt.
Me: Each person’s hair has its own maximum length.
A friend: Really?
You don’t want to believe me as well? That’s true. Length of hair is determined by our genes. So if you’re ancestors has short hair, your hair won’t grow much longer.
What is it with hair? Ever since, I have a difficult time fixing my hair. So I have it curled to avoid frequent combing. But it grown longer that it looks like drill bit and again I’m having harder time to tame it. So, goodbye long hair. It may really sound defensive but in the right-side picture, it’s my index finger..
