“A while.” Billy mumbled, his fingers pressed up against the glass of his cell as he spoke. He was wearing earpieces that were meant to disrupt his powers, leaving him pretty much defense. Bracelets around his wrist prevented him from just pulling them out on his own. The earpieces also made him pretty of dizzy most of the time, but that hadn’t been the biggest of his concerns while trapped here. “They don’t let me out much, so I don’t know for sure.”
In fact, even the initial kidnapping of him and his brother was still kind of fuzzy. Mostly it’d consisted of HYDRA men appearing out of nowhere and surrounding them. He remembered a loud buzzing noise that’d made it impossible for him to focus on anything, let alone a spell. Tommy’s feet had been incapacitated and removing the threat of speedster had been quick work after that. It was if they’d been ready for the twins - A conclusion both terrifying and highly probable.
Thinking about his brother brought a deeper frown to his face. He hadn’t ever been this long without the other twin in a while and those days did not contained many pleasant memories. He shuttered to think what the speedster might be going through in his absence. “Have you found Tommy, yet? Is he okay?”
Look the thing is -- the thing is, Remy hadn’t been able to fight. None of them had; everyone around them had been incapacitated by whatever sonar bullshit HYDRA is using. Remy could maybe have blown some of them up, but he’s only used his powers a couple times before, and he might have hit Tommy or Billy. No way to escape, no way to fight... the only option had been to let the capture play out and then talk his way into a position better than being killed or tortured.
It had been awful. He’d said things he couldn’t mean in a million years -- things he thinks Tommy overheard, but not Billy -- things like wanting to be free of Bucky, that he hated Wanda, that he wanted the twins to die so he’d be free of the burden of watching them. He’d called Bucky abusive, Wanda insane, and the twins sheltered idiots who thought he was their friend just because Captain fucking America said so.
(Alright -- so a little venom about Steve hadn’t been hard to come by -- but only because Remy is sure that Steve is going to make Bucky get rid of him, and that probably just makes Steve.... well, a normal adult.)
But Remy had done it. He knows how to lie through his teeth to survive, and he was going to keep lying until he could pull the twins out of this mess or get ahold of... someone. Bucky’s the only one who’d even consider coming for him, but the twins are well liked, and they have a mother, and their mother has friends. If Remy can reach any of the Avengers, even the ones currently at odds with Steve, the twins will have their rescue. And Bucky will probably come for him, while they’re at it. And if he can’t reach anyone, well, he’s planning a break out. Remy’s capable of driving a getaway car if he has to.
“I know where he is,” Remy says. He’s seen security camera footage. It’s -- it’s not good. “Can’t get t’ him yet, but soon. It was hard enough gettin’ down here to see you.”
