Maximus
Alonzo and Maximus are frenemies, meaning they are cool with each other but also have some competitive rivalry between them.
"Why?", you may or may not ask. They are both quite high in the Jellicle protectors' rank, being Alonzo the second in command and having Maximus right behind him, but to close for his liking.
But what I like the most is how they act in this. Alonzo is seriously about it because he wants to keep the position he worked for, while Maximus couldn't find it more amusing and 80% of the time he makes "Are we about to kiss now?" jokes.
Not sure if I’ve asked this before but,
How does Maximus feel about violence? I assume he’s no stranger to it given his profession, but compared to Allena does he enjoy it like she does or will he try to avoid it whenever possible?
Direct quote from my freind, who writes Maximus: "He uses it like a tool, he does it if he has to and does it to make a point, but he also does take some joy in the feeling of power, he contains his excitement of firing a gun or stabbing with a knife, he lets it happen, lets himself feel that feeling of joy, then let's it go, because he sees it like using a welding torch, you use it as a tool to do something, but it can be fun"
So yeah! Sounds about right to me!
And fun little fact, he introduced Aella to the whole criminal network by taking her to a meeting with another that had gotten on his bad side, gave her a pre-discussed clue, and she murdered almost all of them, except for the leader that he cut the face off of, and a single lackey to be a survivor and spread the word of just how dangerous Maximus's new freind was. Aella had a great time! (And didn't understand any of the sexism towards her before she murdered the people. She was just like "What? Maximus, what does that mean?")
Hope that all anwnsers the question!! Thanks for asking!!!!!!!!
