Not one, not two BUT THREE IN ONE.
Yeah idk why I chose to set it up like this but I did.
Machiatto was the unofficial husband of Coal, as well as his business partner when they first opened their restaurant together. While Coal handles the cooking, Machiatto would handle the bar. People thought the two didn’t seem to be a match, with Machiatto being breezy and happy to relax and Coal being ambitious and even aggressive, the two evened eachother out and they loved being around eachother. In his off-time, Machiatto loved experimenting with drinks. Both alcoholic and coffee drinks… and he liked to smoke. He’d get way too experimental much ti his husbands chagrin. But hey, he was great with the customers and was happy to talk to them and could diffuse arguements Coal had gotten himself into fast.
Cadance was the wife of Johnathan, and while the two were very close and affectionate with eachother, they were not actually a couple. Her and Johnathan had met at an audition for a theater production and the two quickly became friends. Loving eachothers energy and enthusiasm over the threaten. It’d certainly help when they’d preform together. Due to this chemistry, people had believed they were a couple and would swarm them with questions. Even though the two did care for eachother, there were no feelings deeper than platonic. So the two had decided to marry for public imagery reasons so they could avoid being bugged about it any further. It made people leave them alone and even when having others for company, the two adored eachother and believed that they were truly the best of friends.
Onir meanwhile, was the true love of Johnathan’s life. A prince from a far off country, he began visiting Angel Island for political reasons and had met Johnathan because of them. They had quickly clicked and became friends, bonding over similar interests and learning of eachothers cultures… as well as learning both weren’t exactly straight. In Onirs case, he was a closeted gay man. The two would date and see eachother in secret for a very long time. Johnathan whoever, grew tired of being in the dark and wanted to be offical together… but Onir couldn’t go through with it. He was too afraid what being exposed as what was seen as taboo would do to not only his own reputation and life, but his family too. So he refused and had broken it off with Johnathan. It was a truely tragic case of Starcrossed lovers. The day Onir died and Johnathan got that letter, it was a heartbreaking day for him… he still has a lot of unresolved feelings about his lost love with this prince.
