I think Max and Trevor both had crushes on each other at entirely different points in time. Trevor had a crush before he even met Max officially, and Max had a crush during murder at haversham manor. They both QUICKLY got over it but tease each other for it.

Okay so yes yes absolutely. As a preface I already headcanon that maxtrev did happen between Haversham and Peter Pan. Gotta love a not so accidental kiss bringing out the bi in Max and Trevor just being like ‘yeah why not’. In my view they didn’t last but first I’d like to give the pairing it’s due because it is genuinely a very fun and interesting one.

Max and Trevor compliment each other sooo well. As the most visibly happy and most visibly grumpy at any given moment it doesn’t take any stretch of the imagination to see a classic grumpy x sunshine dynamic working for them. An added thing however which makes these two particularly endearing to me is that I feel like this wouldn’t involve the classic fandom ‘grumpy putting sunshine’s mad ideas down’ aspect of that pairing because I feel like maxtrev for the most part would Love doing random shit together. Like Trevor has enough practical skill and too little survival instincts that of course he’ll help Max make himself a skateboard because he’s decided thats an awesome thing he needs to do. Like I can see these two having so much fun in the workshop in the right mood (I can also see them getting into arguments aka Trevor yelling at Max because he was using a tool badly and could have injured himself).

These two have fun together. I think that’s clear enough. Do I think they love each other? Yes. Do I think it would last romantically? No.

I feel like sandrax ofc has a part to play here I mean Max ‘I think I’m in love with Sandra’ Bennett wears his heart on his sleeve even if it’s doing things he doesn’t want. But also I just can’t see them really getting past some arguments. I don’t think I can articulate this very well but they work better as friends in my mind.

But yeah I love them so much and think about them often and they are still having so much fun as buddies you have no idea and the number of ‘I slept with him forst’ jokes Trevor uses against Sandra is hilarious hehehhe

Question :: How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?

If Max is awake, conscious, and breathing, he’s doubting. The only area of expertise he doesn’t feel doubt in is his herbalism. His garden is a source of calm in the maelstrom of demons and blighted magisters and falling skies.  His main source of doubt is his Mark and his office as Inquisitor - is he truly the chosen of Andraste? How can he lead all these people, when all he sees is his own failure looming ahead? He was never meant to lead. He was meant to sit in a Circle his whole life, probably writing books about plants, and die peacefully in his sleep if the Templars didn’t kill him first with their shifty machinations. He wasn’t meant to lead - but here he is anyway, and he doesn’t know what to do with it.

He’s defensive of anything to do with emotion and himself. He feels so much, but he can’t articulate exactly what he’s feeling, which just leads to him hiding away and being frustrated whenever anyone asks after his emotional well-being. He’s also defensive of his sister - she makes bad decisions, sometimes, not the best morally, but they get the job done, and he trusts her to know what she’s doing. If you try to decry her actions, be prepared for Max to come after you, next (even if he is bad at the whole ‘revenge’ thing).

Reminder :: How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks?

Very bad. Eating is the first thing to go, which means Evelyn is often on duty making sure he eats at least twice a day, preferably more. He often foregoes actual ‘work’ in favor of spending hours in the garden - it’s his interest, and he’d much rather tend to plants than tend to snotty nobles - which also leaves Evelyn to act as the mouthpiece of the Inquisitor more often than not (which is fine by her. She adores the Game, and plays it like a master. She’s a careful blend of caustic attitude and tempered steel wit with the patience of a hunter.) He’ll also spend days at a time locked in his room with research tomes and other things, trying to figure out one thing or another. He gets really bad tunnel vision when there’s a problem he wants to solve.
