Finch: trans man (ive got lots of thoughts on this so i’ll probably make a separate post instead of putting them all here) and gay, but really repressed (related to him being trans)

Elliott: probably nonbinary but he’s got a job so he doesn’t really care about that. he’s bi (preference for women), and definitely aware of it, but doesn’t often act on his attraction to men, and if he does he doesn’t say anything.

Maya: lesbian !!!! please god let her kiss girls !!!! she’s aware that she’s a lesbian, but takes a long time to come out (mainly because she’s worried about her fathers reaction)

Jack: cishet ally. keeps accidentally saying offensive things, but he’s trying.

Nina: bi and not at all aware. she thinks everyone feels this way towards women.

Just Shoot Me! (1997)

Summary: A high-style magazine owned by Jack Gallo, who has hired his quick-tempered but talented daughter, Maya, to write for the publication. Challenging her at every turn is Nina, a vain and superficial former model. Then there's photographer Elliot, a man who is very popular with his portrait subjects as well as other women. Completing the core staff is her father's assistant, Dennis, a glorified secretary who is generally disrespectful to one and all.

Rating: 4/5

I loved this show. It's your average sitcom with such great characters and a lot of appearances from people who were not that famous yet. I don't know how many people know of this show, but I would highly recommend it. I would have given it 5/5, but the ending to the show is a little weird. About 4 episodes before it actually ends, they make an episode that is your typical finale. I'm not sure why they did this but it made the ending not as special. Other than that, this show was great.

Favorite Character: Nina Van Horn

Nina spoke to me in so many ways. She is funny and sarcastic and refuses to grow old. While she may be rude and look down upon others, it's only because of her confidence in herself. She dwells in the past and longs to be that young, wild kid she used to be. She grew up with little potential and escaped that, finding success everywhere she could.

My Husband: Elliot Dimauro

I'm sorry, I was so in love with him. I realize that he was a womanizer and kind of shallow, but he was so in touch with his emotions, and when he was in a relationship with someone he truly loved, he showed that love deeply. And him with the beard drives me feral.

I'll just be having a regular, normal day until my mind decides to start thinking about all of the times in Just Shoot Me! when Maya literally dominated Finch. 👀😳😵‍💫🥴🥵

The instance that I think about the most is the time when he said something rude/totally Finchy to her in the office and she grabbed him with both hands to push him high up against the wall behind his desk.
