i absolutely HATE when people mischaracterize Dazai. he’s so much more than just a suicidal womanizer and i wish more people in the fandom could understand that.

i may hate him but bear with me now

in the dark era light novel, Oda describes Dazai as a child crying in the dark. this was especially emphasized when one of the members of mimic raised a gun to his head. Dazai doesn’t want to die, he wants a reason to live. that’s why he was so eager to go to the agency in the first place. not only did he see Oda as one of his only friends, but someone who was good at living—which IS NOT very common in the PM.

we also see Dazai become infatuated with Chuuya, who is inherently human. i’d say that Dazai is so obsessed with getting such a reaction out of Chuuya because he gives such a humane reaction to everything he says. Chuuya, in Dazai’s eyes, is good at living. he has that drive that he doesn’t.

i’m sure that because he doesn’t have that drive for living, he doesn’t consider himself human. we can see those ties back to Yozo from no longer human. he acts like a clown and self deprecates himself to avoid confrontation about how empty he truly feels.

man I hate seeing the girls get sick and injured because of being overworked while jype does absolutely nothing to make it worth their while. Yuna getting nerve pain and still performing, Yeji having three back to back comebacks (including her solo debut) and still giving her all, all the girls going to interview after interview after show after fansign after fan call and yet the company does nothing to make them feel rewarded for their efforts.

and I know we love to say itzy should leave jype, but once you’re in it’s so difficult to get out. if they do leave, they will probably have to undergo a long arduous legal process for just their name (which the company owns) and the right to perform their songs. never mind finding a company that will actually sign them and promote them well. the probability of itzy getting even less attention or being locked away in the basement after leaving the company is extremely high (see got7, nwjns, loona, etc.)

I really think the best option here is for them to negotiate for better terms in their contract renewal. and I really fucking hope it happens because I’m tired of seeing the girls get overworked AND underpromoted/mismanaged (and honestly sabotaged). they have so much potential and already have a solid fanbase and international fame, but the company acts like they’ve already given up on them. if itzy had just a fraction of the promo hybe and sm groups get they would dominate absolutely everywhere. I’m hopeful since twice’s contract renewals ended going really well so I hope the same is true for itzy.

I want to see my girls get the treatment they deserve ❤️‍🩹

So instead of Heated Rivalry, I bought Red, White and Royal Blue

I’ve already watched the movie butttt I’ve heard good things about the book, so we shall see!

You know what makes me pressed?

People bashing things other people like. You don’t have to like it but deliberately going out of your way to bash it is sooo not cool.

For instance, I love movies. I watch movies all the time, literally every chance I get. My best friend doesn’t like movies, she thinks theyre stupid. Whatever, her opinion, she just makes it hard to find movies when we have sleep over because if I enjoy it I don’t want her to watch it to bash it (eg. Notting Hill is cheesy for people with unrealistic expectations, Scream is to self aware to be enjoyable even if she enjoyed scary movie and couldn’t get through five minutes of Scream, Pulp Fiction is long and has no plot, Nightmare Before Christmas is just plain stupid and unenjoyable)

I just think if you don’t like something, don’t make other people feel bad or just don’t like something cause it’s main stream.

catherine zeta jones looks like the college roommate you have whos always inviting you to parties but never pressures you and one time you agree to go and she goes wild at the party but always makes sure to check up on you regularly and make sure you’re safe and ok and one night you wake up in the middle of the night and she’s having a breakdown because she realizes she’s never really liked herself and the conversation doesn’t really go anywhere and when you wake up again everything is back to normal and she’s acting fine but you both now share meaningful looks when life gets quiet and instead of parties you both start going to gardens and museums and enjoying the quiet, just the two of you and suddenly she tells you you’re the only person who’s ever really made her feel human and life goes on and you graduate and you don’t see her again for fifteen years and five days but one day you run into her in the supermarket and you recognize her instantly and she’s still just as beautiful as when you first saw her and for a moment you’re scared she won’t remember you but then she sees you and her face lights up and she pulls you into a hug and you get lunch together and she tells you she’s super successful now but actually listens to you when you tell her you have a small business and you aren’t rich but you’re getting by and you’re happy and she’s the first person that has seemed legitimately proud of you for that and in a spur of the moment act, she tells you she’s spent every day thinking about you and wishes you would move in with her and in a spur of the moment decision you agree and suddenly you find yourself living in a nice house, perfect for the two of you and life is good and peaceful and every day feels like one of those walks you used to take in the gardens and you are content

okay, here’s my rant. idk, i’m kind of passionate about this...

tldr; every time i make a gifset of a thai drama, i am asked if it’s BL, and because of this, i am upset that there are some who think that thai dramas only consist of BL, which they are not. i don’t watch BL dramas, but i am happy that there are series that tackle the topic. i realize that lakorns aren’t as accessible as BL, but if you want resources on places to watch subbed dramas, let me know!!
