Random rant that I wanted to do from forever (or less)

I must say a thing about a certain character from Fafner series. It took me some time to figure it out, but now I know it surely.

There are big spoilers and most things that you will find wrong, but here we are free to share our opinion sooooo… (Btw sorry for the bad English, I hope you’ll understand what I want to say anyway.)

The more I watch the series, mostly in Exodus, more I found Maya disgusting and annoying. Yes. Her. And now I’m going to explain why.

When we watch the first series, she is described as a “strong” girl who wants to help everyone, who wants that everyone live together happy with everyone before the shiny aliens and Fafner assimilate them. Then she can pilot too, and she became one of the most usefull characters in battle. In some battles she’s better than Kazuki, when the strategy allows it. But, ok, awesome pilot, awesome sniper… What about her temper? It seems it was kinda good in DA. I found her both a “good” and annoying girl (everyone said “c'mon Maya, shut up" at least one time, admit it) But she got worse in Exodus. Very worse. First of all, she had an obsessive attraction for Kazuki that for most of the series she’s like “Kazuki-kun this, Kazuki-kun that", almost ignoring the others characters like:

-when Akira is still “upset" for what the NUN did to Hiroto, she smiles and when he asks her why she was smiling, SHE CONTINUED TO SMILE BECAUSE KAZUKI CAME TO HER TO SAY “hey, ok, you did that thing, but you save us all, don’t worry we’ll return home all together" SERIOUSLY GIRL. WHAT THE FUCK. You could say to him “I’m smiling because I know that we’re going to go home all together.“ But nope :D Authors transformed her in a brainless fangirl (?).

-when Soushi literally iced his ass to save her and she tried to activate Fenrir in order to make the Gallop revoke the R.O.E ALPHA. Well, yeah, we are all happy (?) that she didn’t. But now the worst part. Soushi was there. Crossing with her. She could say “I’m sorry, Minashiro-kun, but I must do this. Farewell. And fare well to you too… Kazuki-kun…” ANOTHER GIANT NOPE :D She only said “Goodbye, Kazuki-kun.“ WHAT. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Soushi almost got killed because he did his best for saving you, you say this and even he talks to you again the only thing you can say is that you are sorry that you didn’t followed the orders? Now, everyone knows that the authors made that poor boy interested in her and so, in that scene, he only said, smiling, “I’m always the shoulder where you cry on”, but I wanted a scene after this (first of all, I must say that I’m against any kind of violence even in anime, but here we go): when they returned to the hairship or wtf is that, Soushi accumulated all the jealousy he had (because he is a bit jealous about the “relationship" between Kazuki and that girl, let’s admit it) and he transformed it in a slap to her (not too strong ofc, kinda like the one Kira gave to Cagalli in Gundam SEED) and said “what were you thinking, Tōmi?! What if you died?! How could we stand your death?! Why you did it?! You could have activated Fenrir and then ejected your cockpit! Why didn’t thought about what could happen next?“ and then he could have smiled and said, hugging a crying Maya “anyway, I’m glad you didn’t, Tōmi.”

Btw, leaving those things apart (they were the examples for showing how is her temper), the summary of this is: Maya, in Exodus, is, for me, the worst character. And the worst thing is that the authors gave her a trauma when she was kidnapped and used as the beta tester (?) of Mark Raison.I saw it like “hey guys! We made Maya like a shitty character here, so we gave her a trauma so you can still love her!“ It’s not nice to say, but I kinda would have preferred her passing instead of Canon’s (but we all know that all happened because Canon put away the future of destruction where she could live with Kazuki and preferred the one where all the people of Tatsumiya are alive even without her, saving not only the main character but all the world). Or, not being so mean with her, that her relationships with others characters were better and not limited to only a sentence or something like she ignored them. It seemed like that for her existed only Kazuki, Soushi (only when she notices him), Miwa, Mizoguchi and sometimes her sister. It’s like the others aren’t there.

Maya had so much potential to be the best character, but they screwed it up.

That’s why now I found her annoying and sometimes (or always? It depends from the day and the scene, lol) I really hate her. 

She’s my least favourite character in the show.

I mean, characters that had less screentime than her were characterized better. Why Xebec, why you transforned her from a normal girl to a… I don’t even know how define her because I was too mean (maybe) before.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I wanted to say it once for all.

Have a nice day and let’s hope that in THE BEYOND they make her more mature and less “CASUKEE-KUUUUN” (seriously, she repeats it like a Pokèmon does with its name).

Impressions for Soukyuu no Fafner - Exodus Episode 9 (spoilers ahead)

The title said "The Two Heroes"... For me was PARTY HARD WITH SHINY ALIENS.

Anyway, Maya, Akira and Hiroto start to fight the Festums with the people from Perseus company. And we see the power of Emiry: she can destroy certain tipes of Festums, but I think she can do it while she is in the shrine. Everything seems to go in the wrong way when the mechs got assimilated by Festums and began to attack their comrades. And Ai got attacked too by a Festum and she nearly got assimilated, but she asked Maya to kill her before she was completely assimilated... NOOOOOOOES AI-CHAN çwç

The others continues to kick asses to the aliens, but they have too to fight against their comrades, or at least their comrades' mechs under the controll of the Festums... And there is again the creepy baby from episode 6 (it was it, right?), I'm starting to think that he's an emissary of the Mir coming from the space and wants that Miwa could speak with it (he was in the room when she grew up, before they got attacked by the meany mean alien), or he's a Festum send for blocking her to speak with the new Mir.

When all seemed lost... TA-DAAAAAN. BADASS MARK SEIN AND MARK NICHT CAME FROM THE SKY *W*

Kazuki saved Ai, removing the shiny crystals from her body and from the cockpit, and Maya is like "OMG, that was incredible Kazuki-kun" and then she cries because she wasn't able to save people (oh, poor one :( ). Then Mark Nicht arrives and with only an hand he exterminates all the Festums on the range of... 1Km?  BTW, Soushi seems to know very well the abilities of his mech and he uses them to KILL KILL KILL ALL THOSE FREAKING ALIENS. Then Kazuki, in a pose like "Moon Prism Power! Make Up!"  (sorry guyz, but I thought about Sailor Moon when I've saw him, LOL), cancels the assimilation from the bodies of the people in the mechs controlled by Festums. SHINY CRYSTALS SCATTERING. I've noticed that Kazuki's eyes become golden when he uses the power of anihilate the assimilation process from the others... OK.

Then Soushi got attacked by Festums, but he's like "LOL, that's all you've got? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH" and wipe out them USING THEIR OWN ABILITIES, EVEN WITH THE DARK KIENZAN (?).

Then he ad Kazuki talk a little and went to kick the ass of the Festum near the Mir. And.... the end all dies, lol.... nope I'm joking   of the episode.

Anyway, I liked the new version of Anya Kouro, it's like a tribute of Separation, but Soushi, Maya and Kazuki look more mature (captain obvious mode on) and like they know their destiny...

I CAN'T WAIT THE NEXT EPISODE.
