There are two kinds in this world, believers and discoverers. The believers are easily swayed by weavers of fantasy, weavers that make their craft the profit for their own sake an imperative among their followers. they then tend to defend their belief with hate and violence, or at the least with ethnic and religious discrimination and denigration. Unbelievers to them are considered to be sinners, or at times less than human, and therefore expendable or disposable. The discoverers endeavor to investigate, learn, test, explore, taste, sample, experience, cherish. and enjoy everything in nature...and then in the joy of their findings, they endeavor to share their treasure with the world. They see even the least of their fellow humans as someone that can benefit from their acquired knowledge, even if they are unable to comprehend... and they see that everyone they might encounter will also be able to teach them something new. With this mindset, everyone, and everything living is of value, nothing is disposable, no one is categorized by the fantasy they chose, or led to chose, as to their worth.
Every day, as my grand children shuffle off to school, i chime in with "Have a great day, and learn Something!" It's voiced in jest, but has a hidden intent and meaning.Other than the humorous intent with which I vocalize it, I actually hope that they decide for their lives that learning will always trump believing.
