So here’s a thing, I was writing a little part of a probably way bigger story that includes two of the characters having to run away from a threat. One is targeted by some sort of supernatural being and the second one came along to protect him.
They stay in hiding for a year but eventually the threat catches up to them. As fighter dude is obliterating underlings, the being takes over his target’s mind and body. When fighter dude came back he played along and pretended he was still the first guy and that he’d won.
From then on I had nothing planned so I kept writing to see where it would go. And that ended up with fighter dude blurting out:
“You’re not [target dude].”
“Well done, you’re good. What gave it away?”
“I spent a year alone with him. I know what he looks like when he smiles.”
“.......”
So not only are my characters doing pretty much what they want but now they’re also dumping random shit like this on me so I guess these two are together now?
