Occasionally, Lisa and I gather for a meal whether it breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner to chew the fat or commiserate some difficulty we’ve experienced in recently. Today was both. She had a difficult family event to share and I had that whole hospital stay thing I haven’t spoke about in public to discuss with her. Lisa was hankering for Chinese food and I was open to it. After all last year around this time we tried for Chinese but ended up at the Barbecue place in Chinatown. I think Texas barbecue is the least Chinese thing to eat when you go to Chinatown. Anyway, we gabbed for over an hour about things that bedeviled us and future plans. Thankfully, I never have to dumb down my vocabulary or topic when I’m with Lisa. All the dishes were good but the sweet and pungent shrimp was marvelous. We drank hot tea.
