Summary:

Everything in Billy’s life changed the night of his dad’s first date with Susan. He was attacked and bitten by a monster on the beach, then he met Max. He’s slowly changing into a monster just like the one that bit him, and that would be terrifying if it wasn’t taking a backseat to the redheaded girl he can’t seem to get out of his head. She’s too young for him, she’s the daughter of his father’s girlfriend, and he’s never been any good for anybody, so she’ll probably only get hurt in the end. There are a lot of reasons why he should leave her alone… but he’s not going to.

Pairing: Billy Hargrove/Max Mayfield

In no time there was a piece of wood in her mouth, thin and not even an inch long. She pinched it between her thumb and forefinger and pressed herself against Billy's back, leaning forward to show him the culprit. "Viola."

"Shit." He held it in his open palm. "That was... That was really demented, Max. But it was cool." He twisted around to try and look at her. "They teach you that in Girl Scouts?"

(She'd never been a Girl Scout.) "First Aid 101."

"Yeah, if you're a freak, maybe. Thanks."

"I'm not done yet. You're still bleeding."

Max helps Billy pull out a splinter he can't reach.

They end up helping each other, really.
