I think I may have hallucinated that you had a side piece about the Mayke/Antony/Apollonia relationship, but I figured I should ask if I just can't find it or if it actually doesn't exist instead of just scratching my head in frustration! :) Have you written anything for them? If not, would you ever?

I've had it on my to-do list forever and I've talked about it on here but I haven't actually written it! I've got about 200 words written of Antony crying and Mayke hating him and that's about it lmao. I wanted it to be a relatively fluffy threesome but I keep getting stuck in them being a hot mess in their early relationship

I had a couple questions on AO3 about when in the timeline Kal and Teunis know about Marcus' plays so I thought I'd put my answers here:

By the current present chapter 10 of Such Forced Contrition, Teunis hasn't realized Marcus is Hortensia yet. Marcus finds this very uncomfortable and Kal intends to eventually tell Teunis, but for the moment finds it very funny to wait and see if Teunis figures it out himself. Kal figures that since Calla knows and she and Teunis have their on and off thing, she'll tell him eventually (she won't, because she secretly finds it kind of sweet and thinks it will ruin the plays for him if he finds out. She's not totally wrong at this point in the timeline.)

Apollonia and Mayke realize when they see Marcus leave the theater in a panic in Such Slow Recognition.

The exact moment Kal realizes is on page at the end of the engagement party chapter in Such Familiar Distance when he asks Marcus to go to the Hortensia play. Kal doesn't realize at all in the past chapters of Such Slow Recognition, but like a normal person who is totally over their ex, he spends the next few years off and on thinking about how much Marcus would like these plays he's going to and isn't it weird that Marcus never took him to one. When he runs into Marcus again and sees some of Marcus' character growth he starts thinking "hmmm." He's not totally sure until he asks Marcus specifically to go to a Hortensia play (and that's why he asks, because he's testing how much Marcus has already been pushing out of his "proper" role). Marcus confirms it with his totally smooth super convincing lie, and that's when Kal decides to A. make Marcus uncomfortable by teasing him about it and B. try to get Marcus out of his sister's house so they can have a real relationship. Up to that point before the engagement party Kal was just kind of having a fling, and after that he was like "no I'm going to rescue Marcus like a damsel in distress."

Are your memefic characters stylish? Or not? What do they like to wear? Do they follow trends? Etc

I keep forgetting to lean into this more for Marcus/Kal. Marcus isn't fashionable in a following trends way, but spending stupid amounts of money on clothes was one of the few things he could make his own decisions about as long as it wasn't too flashy. So he's the kind of fashionable where if you Know he's obviously dressed very expensive, but following trends too much is for nouveau riche and not rich-rich. Cyril is also somewhere in this area after he gets engaged and his father in law starts trying to make him over, and Cyril is wildly uncomfortable with this because it mostly reminds him of Julius.

Kal definitely doesn't start very fashionable and by the time Marcus runs into him again, he's more on the flashy and scandalous end of fashionable. Right after Marcus buys him, Kal has an eye for what fits/what size things are/what's expensive after working in a laundry for a lot of his childhood but not really any sense of how that applied to himself. Then Marcus picked out his clothes and basically dressed Kal as an accessory to his own outfits so Kal never really developed a sense of what he liked himself.

Somewhere towards the end of the Kal POV part of the sequelfic, Kal will develop more of a sense that if he's going to be perceived he might as well decide how he wants to be perceived. He eventually settles on he wants people like Lucian and Marcus to perceive fuck you and trends more towards scandalous things like brightly colored socks, striped pants and plaid waistcoats by the time Marcus runs into him again. Lodee shows up in the big city dressed like he's still on the northern frontier because he's also performing fuck all this. Kal will eventually talk Marcus into something scandalous like flashy socks to go with his earring.

I don't have a good handle on women's fashion in this universe, but Mayke gets a kick about dressing extremely conservatively in some ways and then having a little flash of something scandalous or outre once in a while.

For an ask meme about characters being parents:

Marcus and Kal will eventually have a babies ever after because I find the idea of that trainwreck very iddy. Marcus is the one with the most parenting experience since he was responsible early on for supervising his sisters' children's educations and doing general parenting-ish things like going to recitals and doing their clothes shopping.

Kal doesn't dislike the idea of kids but was never really around them much after he got older, and has a lot of issues wrapped up in his own childhood for obvious reasons. He has a weird relationship with Marcus' older nieces and nephews, mostly from his side, because he's self conscious that they remember how things used to be and Kal feels like he doesn't belong with Marcus' family.

When they finally end up having kids, Kal is very stressed out all the time because it makes him process stuff that he compartmentalized for a very long time. He ends up being more of the disciplinarian because in his experience,bad things happened to kids who weren't silent and obedient and it all brings a lot of low key anxiety up to high key for a while in the toddler/preschool years. Marcus enjoys the chance to be the Fun parent for once after being the uncle who had to supervise everything, and they end up having a couple big fights until they sort their shit out.

Teunis of course is banging pots and pans from the start that this is a terrible idea but ends up being the Fun Uncle while still glaring daggers at Marcus. Mayke and Antony are all about more babies and enables things from start to finish just to have new baby smell to smell.

Kal is very, very touchy when he gets comfortable with someone. Teunis is not super comfortable with this, especially in public, which is part of the reason they didn't work out when they were hooking up. Teunis is more about acts of service because he can tell himself it's what he's choosing to do, and he has much more complicated feelings about touching and being touched.

Antony is basically all of them, lol. Loves hanging out with his kids, likes telling people nice things, likes touching and petting his family. Apollonia and Mayke were very not into this when Antony and Apollonia we're first married, because they're both much more withdrawn, so they were very 'ew, fake and ott' about Antony at first. (Antony and Apollonia had a somewhat arranged marriage that Apollonia and Mayke weren't thrilled about and Antony tried to make the best of it. So they had a very rough first couple of years until Mayke decided she liked him and was going to make Apollonia be nice to him). Mayke is somewhat touchy and likes taking care of people, but it takes her a long time to warm up to being affectionate.
