The Lincolns take another step towards self-actualisation. Robin is a born teacher (maybe one day she’ll find herself as a professor), Wil is diligent as all hell, and of course there’s Marina getting her name & semblance. “Marin” was the frontrunner for a while as it matched her twin’s name, but ultimately I decided it was too close to Marron - hence the gag of the two pondering over it.

I think that embracing who you are is the perfect time for your soul to develop the superpower that is inspired by who you are. Marina’s semblance is named Phase and, as the name might suggest, Robin’s summary of it isn’t entirely correct as it’s not just turning invisible. We’ll find out what it really does soon enough.

And then, naturally, there’s Lilliana Grumpus Lincoln, being left on her own again to wallow in her disdain and her outfit I borrowed from pinterest.

That’s the good guys wrapped up for Arc 3, with some lead in to early Arc 4 content. I can’t tell you how freeing it is to have Robin and Nyssa clear the air, and to have RAIN all on the same page for the first time in literally ever.

But with Sterling’s warning, let’s check up on the Braiths next post...

And thus, another member of the Crazy Bunch meets their end. That’s 4 down, 4 left alive. Bianca and Rufus just ran off with the money (smart move), Mason is currently still frozen in a block of ice courtesy of Jin, and Finn is... around.

I’d like to point out that originally Robin was going to be the one to put an arrow in Rouge Carmine’s face, but I decided that it both went against Robin’s previous “I want to be kind” realisation and felt more in character for Wil to just flick a switch and murder someone because he’d already done it with Donovan Lundie (when he vaporized him after unlocking his semblance).

Plus, with Rouge being red-themed like an apple, and Wil shooting over the head of a child, it fulfils his literary basis of William Tell. Finally one of my character allusions actually means something.

I did mention a weakness last time, didn’t I? You may have noticed during the course of the comic the Braiths’ auras tend to flare up when they’re emotionally heightened - and Marron noticed it just now. Defying Sterling made him angry... making him angry made his aura flare, ergo making him angry enough should break it. Boom, weakness!

Maylis joins the battle! And she’s a dirty little fighter. The Lincolns train them young; Robin could take out a Creep with naught but a plank of wood by six years old. Plus there’s a little hint of the Lament of Lilliana Lincoln.

See, Finch wasn’t just a character I plopped into the story while Robin wasn’t providing as much comic relief - his semblance (the ability to tell where those he’s close to are by thinking about them) and his gullibility is what’s gonna get Maylis all the way to Unsei Ridge.

Also Vienna is the older sister of the ill-fated OC from 2 years ago that was never meant to be, Miyuki Yamasaki.

It’s Lincoln-Crisis-Of-Faith mania right now - last post we had Robin, this time it’s a one-off page of Roderick. And hey - Artemis was revealed alive a while ago, but now we get to actually see her, albeit on life support.

And some Irving/Nyssa solidarity, which is nice.
