Uncharismatic Fact of the Day

Mbenga is Swahili for 'dangerous fish'- a pretty accurate description for Hydrocynus goliath! Also known as the goliath tigerfish, adults regularly grow up to 1.5 m (4.9 ft) and weigh over 50 kg (110 lb), and they have an appetite to match. Mbenga regularly hunt other fish, and will also attack larger prey such as crocodiles and humans; they're aided in their hunt by 20-34 teeth, each of which can grow up to 2.5 cm (1 in) long!

One of the best things SNW has done to add to the world of TOS was flesh out the relationship between pike and spock. It provided a richer understanding of their actions in menagerie- why spock would risk the death penalty to provide no more than comfort to his previous captain, and why pikes was adamantly against it. It made that episode meatier if you know what i mean.

Another good thing SNW has done to add to TOS was flesh out Uhura, M’benga, and chapel. Even Una, who isn’t technically in the original air run of TOS outside of the flashbacks in menagerie. And so far im enjoying what they’re adding to scottys character and im so curious how they’ll develop his relationship with uhura. Even if they just become good friends it’ll be satisfying, for me at least, to see how deep their friendship was before they got together at the end of one of those movies i forget which lol

Okay, episode s3ep05 was genuinely one of the best episodes of SNW and also a chilling one. I felt so sad for Gamble and M'Benga :( and that ending with the computer changing languages??? majestic
