Digital Brands Analysis: The Weinstein Company
For my analysis, I have selected the Weinstein Company. In light of the recent controversy, I would highly suggest the company change names, redesign their logo(s), and release a series of statements listing their plans for the future of the company. In the statements, I would suggest emphasizing a focus on integrity and honesty, as well as a commitment to causes outside of the film industry. By doing this, the Weinstein Company could distance themselves from the bad reputation that their namesake has stained them with. The Weinstein Company could then shift their views from a primarily business endeavor to one that strives to make a positive societal impact beyond the film industry. I feel that a significant mistake has been made in the Weinstein Company’s decision to not release any statement on any of their social media platforms. While I understand the desire to not “convict” Harvey Weinstein before any formal charges are finalized, but to me it shows a lack of compassion towards the victims, of both Weinstein’s actions and sexual assault victims in general.
