Super proud of the high school students I taught through the @mcadcontinuingeducation Studio Intensive this summer! They spent the week honing their editorial illustration skills while I spent the week looking at their sketches & muttering "why didn't I think of that??" 🤨
I am extremely happy with how this course turned out. Five weeks of rigorous-but-fun training in a holistic approach to making comics. Craft, drawing skills, and comics terminology combined with a solid basis in storytelling and narrative structure, as well as industry tips, production, printing, and critical thinking! The aspiring cartoonist tool-kit and a portfolio piece, in only 5 WEEKS! All types and ages of students are welcome. Deadline to register is this WEDNESDAY, FEB. 17th! I would love to see you there! Comics Crash Course Instructor: Caitlin Skaalrud (that’s me!) Dates: Feb. 22 – Apr. 1 Asynchronous - Daytime, nighttime, Saturday’s alright! Earn credit towards a degree at MCAD as well!
