is this, perhaps, the loudest Steve"😍"Mcgarrett has ever been? what, pray tell, brought this on? some big emotional revelation? nah, it was Chin and Kono reminding him of Danny doing the most embarrassing basic Dad Dance™ at Chin's wedding. Steve really is at that level of smitten where everything his beloved does is The Cutest Thing Ever™.

that must be a really good memory, maybe Danny got a little bit too drunk and was unusually carefree and loosened-up and happy and unselfconscious about his dancing ability and Steve couldn't take his eyes off of him all night. Such carefree occasions are rare for Danny and Steve clearly treasures them so much it makes him this happy just to be reminded of them.

ironically, as loud as Steve is, that goes completely over Danny's head who doesn't see beyond his friends' 'cute little critiques' as in good faith as they may be. his tunnel vision defensiveness brought on by years of having to be scrappy is probably one of the reasons he wasn't able to detect his best friend being completely in love with him.
