mcdanno - a fresh perspective

I wanted to share this short alternative H5O finale story I wrote some time ago. It’s my only H5O effort so far but I was relatively happy with it which is a bloody miracle considering I am never happy with what I write!  I’ve just joined a local creative writer’s group and I am hoping to inspire myself to write more.

I just read that the scene with Cath was filmed bevor everybody got informed that the show got canceled! So it was an exit for Alex! Back then they thought that just Alex would not return!

I don’t know how that makes me feel! I probably think that we could have got an other ending!🌺😢🌺

So that’s it!

I’m so gonna miss that show, especially Alex and Scott! I really hope it’s not too long till we hear/see from them again!

A lot of the blogs I follow are upset about the ending and I do get you, I really do! McDanno owns my heart and nothings gonna change that, but I am not upset about the ending! I might look at it from a different angel! I don’t think McRollins is endgame, not at all! But first things first!

Don’t be angry with Steve! He is full of remorse, pain and self loathing. He lost too much in such a short time to just get it over with and on top he almost lost the most important person in his life again because of his family legacy. We know that Steve blames himself for Doris death, for Johns death and he will never get over the fact that he could not safe Joe, not to talk about Freddie! Just think about what loosing Danny would do to him! It would destroy him totally!

So right now Steve is a lost man and for once in his life he has to come to terms with his life, with what happened and he has to learn that nothing that happened was his fault! And to do that, to realize what he has and not only see what he has lost or could loose, he needs to take a step back! Free his heart from all this guilt and pain! Steve will return! He will get back to his Ohana and we all know that Danny and the Kids will make sure of that!

So he‘s leaving with Cath, for now! Makes sense! Don’t get me wrong, they are terrible as a couple! But they are also friends! Apart from Danny, she is the only one that really knows Steve and understands him! She has always been there for him when Danny couldn’t for whatever reason! So yeah it makes sense that she is with him when Danny can’t! She will make sure that he does not get lost with his pain and guilt and he is not alone! I don’t see this romantically, not at all!

In my heart and head Steve will return when he made peace with all what happened and he can finally move on again with his Ohana! 🌺

I never wrote that much and I don’t know if that makes any sense and I doubt that anyone will ever read this but I still had to get it off my chest! McDanno Forever - Aloha Hawaii Five-0
