@mcdeforyou. “ you need a distraction, i'll create a distraction. ”
this wasn’t a good idea. one of the things he had been trying to get off of his mind was her. he figures she must know that, too. being separated wasn’t easy, especially when there were still a lot of feelings that he had yet to let go. it was best for both of them to quit while they were ahead, because they were just creating more stress and pressure for each other, for trixie.. but he was still in love with her. that wasn’t something that just -- goes away all of a sudden.
they both still wanted to be friends. that’s what dan told himself, at least. it was the reason he accepted the invitation to hang out a bit after work back at her place since trixie had some after school club she’d be attending. and, perhaps he was the one who does slip up more often -- say things he quickly realizes afterwards were too forward, direct, things that were acceptable to say as a husband but not as a coworker, or even as a friend.
they were both tipsy now, which might be why he places a hand on her thigh after telling her that he really needed this -- a distraction, something that finally got his mind off of how frustrating lucifer everything has been recently. and she responds.. the way that she does, leaning in closer towards him until her mouth is pressed against his own. and, god, it was like their mouths fit together perfectly -- her lips warm, mouth slightly agape and inviting..
jesus christ. it takes everything that he has to pull himself away.
❛ ... wait, ❜ hand comes up to place itself on one of her shoulders, pulling back so he’s able to actually look at her. ❛ i can’t do this knowing it’ll mean i’ll have to say goodbye. ❜ that might be a dick thing to say, it wasn’t like either of them were trying to officially get back together, or anything.. but he knows it’d feel the same, that he wouldn’t be able to let go again.
