I use blue-and-silver ribbons to create winter decorations that can last as long as it’s cold, even when the christmas deco is already packed up again.
Ooh, yeah, the left one definitely feels wintery. I’m sure I’ll figure something out :D

That really looks great. Wish I could taste it!...
it is sooo good. just had some with cream cheese, onions and tomatoes mm mm ^_^
@mckirkbyjoja, that scene at the end of STID when McCoy was in the white scrubs (or white uniform of Starfleet Medical, not sure why it’s white to be honest) was like one of my favorite scenes of his. Why? Because as Spock talks to Jim, Karl just casually adopts a slightly stooped pose that’s PERFECTLY MCCOY (as played by Deforest Kelley) while arranging items on a tray, and I was. Completely. Enamoured.
So if he had been wearing short sleeves at the time, I didn’t notice that. I was too busy applauding the body language.
*sigh* Karl is something special. More Karl. That’s all I can say.

If she wasn’t played by Martin Freeman’s wife, I’d...
And yet the actor and the character have zero to do with each other??? You can love the actor and hate the character. You can love the character but hate the actor. You ccan love both. You can hate both. They really have nothing to do with each other!!
The bottom image has been flipped. Not sure if it was done in the original footage, or for the photo-set. But the one on his chin is on the wrong side, as is the one above his eyebrow. I’m assuming we just can’t see the one in the naso-labial fold, since it’s on the other side of his face.
"Here again"? I know why I love it but I'd love to hear from you why you wrote it and why this way?
once again I AM SORRY I AM SO LATE TO THE PARTY it’s been a busy week.
Well, this was actually written for @grandadmiral who wanted Jim and Bones’s first time after Jim dying, and was actually my first Star Trek fic–so the thing that finally made me get enough guts to actually publish trek fic.
My thing was that… a lot of fandom stuff (at the time; it’s changed since) was focused a lot on JIM’S reaction to being dead and there wasn’t a ton, besides a few gifsets and tag metas, that I saw of Bones’s long-term reaction to not only seeing Jim dead on that table, but not even being there when he died. Like, yeah it worked in Wrath of Khan, Kirk and Spock there together, but Bones and Jim are a LOT closer in the reboot.
I guess the sexy bits are important enough here, but for me, it was way more about the emotional connection–the before, of course, and the way they reacted when they finally touched each other. It’s been a recovery for both of them, after Jim died, and this is a major step in that, and I like to feel like I got that across as the main theme of the story!
"In your veins"
aHH yes
link for the fic
The whole idea of Jim always getting shitfaced on his birthday came from me just thinking about how Jim tries to escape his legacy, how he doesn’t want to be the son of the hero because he never knew his father, he’ll never know who the man actually was beyond the textbook blurb and the press segments, and so on his birthday, he just wants to forget.
And what really fascinates him at first about Bones is that Bones will always take care of him, no matter how much he gripes and complains and suffers for it, he always comes after Jim.
So when he starts liking Bones (and he can’t help it, what the hell’s he supposed to do with someone who cares so much), he’s kind of a kid about it. He’s too scared to make the first move and doesn’t even really know what he wants until the scene where he goes to meet Bones and sees him talking with a lady:
She’s beautiful, all legs and blue eyes and generous smile, and Jim’s sure she’s as lovely a person as she looks.
He hates her instantly.
"Sir?" the hostess asks, and he blinks, time snapping back into place.
"Oh. Sorry, I…..I thought I saw someone."
She gazes at him serenely. “Can I help you?”
"Yes- no. No, I think I’ll be fine." The woman has a hand on Bones’ shoulder now. Jim swallows hard and offers a careful smile. "It wasn’t them."
Then it kind of hits him all at once and he’s just overwhelmed like “fuck fuck i like him i like him why would he ever like me when he could have someone who could be good for him” because Jim’s so insecure, he fakes it all day long but inside he’s still a kid who’s had to grow up too fast too soon.
This fic is mostly focused on Jim, but the next bit has most of Bones’ dialogue and I tried to set it up so you can see Bones as how Jim sees him— Bones worries a little too much, he’s patient when Jim acts immature, he acts like he’s stern but he’s all soft when it comes to handling Jim, and when he finally lets the caretaker mode slip and goes in for the kiss, they both lose it for a little bit because Bones has been so careful with Jim up until this point because he wasn’t sure if Jim could handle it and Jim’s never wanted anyone before as much as he wants Bones.
So idk, in conclusion, this is one of those rare fics that I sat down and wrote the whole thing in one sitting. There wasn’t as much premeditation that usually goes into other fics, because it’s one of those things that just kind of write themselves. I haven’t read it in a while so it was actually kind of refreshing to read it again, just because I don’t usually read over my own writing lol.
