    The spider demon’s breath hitches, he left Mt. Natagumo months ago, unable to take wandering there any longer with all the memories that haunt him---especially at the abandoned house he lived in with his false family. Not to mention the fact that other demons were beginning to move in and fight over the hunting ground, something that Rui had no desire to get in the middle of.

    What are the chances that he would have run into that slayer again...the one with the flaming blade and demon little sister. Does he remember? How Rui’s memories returned and he apologized before running further into the forest? A matter of luck to avoid all the other slayers and the two hashira, living an empty life forever more.

    “...Kamado Tanjiro.” That’s his name, heard spoken by some of the other slayers walking past his hiding place. Tanjiro and Nezuko; just two of them many people he’s harmed in his demonic life. He’s alive, which is a relief. Rui spent a long time agonizing over the thought that the slayer may have died from his wounds. Another death to his tally.

    Taking a step back, gets on his knees and bows, forehead pressed against the dirt and unheeding that Tanjiro could remove his head for real this time. “I’m so sorry!
