This was something she had been dreading - no - had been terrified of since the day she woke up strapped to that medical bed in Angela's med bay.
Ana.
Her friend, her confidant, her mother.
For year she thought she had killed her. Orphaned her little girl and left her there to be raised by the Overwatch family. Undoubtedly Jack and Gabe had done a good job. She heard stories about Pharah. She had ran across her in battle as well.
Yet now, she stood there, unable to make a quick exit before the other noticed her. They were feet apart from each other, Amelie with a cup of coffee in her hand, the common area way too small and too empty for a diversion or quick retreat. It was time to face another one of her sins.
At least Gerard was dead. She didn't have to look him in the eye and face him. But Ana? Oh no. This was different. Her actions impacted the life of so many, of innocents. What could have caused Ana to stay away from her own child? Amelie had known for a while she was not dead. She had their files. Jack, Ana, both of them ghosts for what was worth, but Talon knew differently.
"I..."
Words failed her. No matter how many times she replayed this scenario in her head, she never thought she would be ready. Hell. She was not.
