If there was one thing Etienne was, it was confident. He was self assured of himself and every careful step he took. He’d out danced many an attempt to make him falter and he knew his steps had to have an extra flare as a mage within the Orlesian circle. And so upon seeing the young Duchess again, he was more than pleased to get tongues wagging.
And sure enough, a mere kiss on the back of her hand caused murmurs and his gray eyes were alight for a moment with amusement and pride over such a simple gesture causing a stir. He was a social pariah, after all, even with his well born lineage.
“It’s one of my finer skills,” he responded lightly. A smirk played across his features at the veiled accusation, not missing a single beat. “One may think that, yes, but doesn’t that make it all the more interesting? Everyone has their ulterior motives, after all.”
