            shoulders  rise  and  fall  slowly  as  the  dark  haired  girl  stood  impatiently  outside  of  the  large,  intimidating  door.  she  had  gone  through  a  lot  to  get  to  where  she  was,  standing  outside  of  what  she  believed  to  be  alexs’  current  residency.  but  she  held  her  breath,  anticipating  the  opening  of  the  large  door  that  decided  her  future.  alex  would  either  accept  her  with  open  arms  or  turn  her  back  around  and  send  her  home.  oh,  how  she  hoped  it  wouldn’t  be  option  two.

 sure  enough,  the  large  door  swung  open  as  amber  tightly  grasped  the  luggage  in  petit  fists.  a  hard  swallow  clung  to  her  throat  as  brown  hues  scanned  the  man  before  her.  it  had  been  years.  “  a  --  alex  ??  “  she  chirped,  waiting  any  sort  of  reaction  from  her  brother.
