unexpected ft. @mcxmina
there’s a million paths to every meeting and lately seoyoung finds comfort in stumbling upon strangers outside of the forest. it made things easier, in a sense, not having the anxiety of whether or not she would have to trick the minds of wandering hikers or wipe the memory of excited children who only wanted to play. she spends more time in the city, still straying from the ocean after the events that took place some weeks ago, blending in with society and distancing herself from her family and friends alike to hopefully erase the memory of salt water on her tongue.
she keeps her cap fit perfectly on top of her head, concealing her horns and taking in a breath of relief as a cool breeze rolls by. fall was quickly approaching and it was one of the few things that brought a sense of delight into her veins. the faun feels some form of disappointment in the fact that she can’t look into the faces of the people she loved without withering back in fear of herself, and unfortunately that wouldn’t be something that changes in a day.
(she wished she could just erase her own memories. it would be easier.)
fast forward, a few hours into the city and things take a turn for the worst. there have been instances where her hats came close to falling off but she always had somewhere to hide or someone to help her. today she was alone with eyes in every direction that pushes her against a cold wall with wide brown hues that show evident surprise as she allows her power of illusions to help her dodge and weave past wandering eyes. a wall that was never there was created for her to hide in a small alleyway, crouching down in the shadows in attempts to calm the rapid beating of her heart against her chest.
seoyoung’s mind races with possibilities of how to get out of such a situation, almost deaf to the pair of footsteps that echo in the alleyway and realizing that she wasn’t alone. immediately the brunette lifts her head, breathing in an audible gasp as her hands travel up in a poor attempt to hide her horns, “please leave me alone!” she cries--she begs--with panic running through her veins. no one should be here as she can still feel the work of her magic, and the last thing she wants is a possible confrontation.
