@griefdestined asked " you took a sick day. you NEVER take a sick day. so yeah, i got worried, and i figured i'd come over and keep an eye on you. "
It hadn’t exactly been Essa’s choice to take a day off; she had shown up to the Halls of Healing that morning as she always did, only for Vokara Che to take one look at her, to feel the way that exhaustion rolled off of her in heavy, dense waves in the Force, to send Essa right back out. She had tried to argue that she still had plenty to give but Master Che would hear nothing of it.
She had returned to her room and started to set up for a deep meditation session when a knock at her door caught her attention.
Essa shook out the match she had been preparing to light a stick of incense with and pushed herself up from where she had been kneeling on the floor. Her muscles groaned in protest and she couldn’t help but sigh, “yes, perhaps I did overdo it this time.”
The door slid open to reveal Obi-Wan.
“Obi-Wan, why are you here? Do you need something?” She asked. Her voice was weary, and the sallow appearance of her skin betrayed the act of health that she was attempting to project.
Though the two had been friends for years, since he was a padawan and she a young knight, she had not expected his response.
“Ah, yes. Well, come in then.”
She motioned to a floor cushion currently leaning against the wall as if offering it to her friend, then sat on one of her own.
