I'm still trying to discern what my goals should be for the new year, especially given how many of the readings I've seen online and the ones I've done for myself indicate that 2022 will be a bit challenging for me.

I'm not afraid of challenges, of course. And given how well 2020 went for me compared to so many others, I suppose it's just my turn.

With that said, life's been fairly rough for me since mid-2017, so I kind of felt as if the rather not-so-devastating 2020 was kind of the pendulum swinging the other way. Perhaps that was the wrong perspective to have. Perhaps I'm trying too hard to find a pattern or a rationale in what's to come.

Perhaps I just need to trust myself that whatever comes, it was the path meant for me.

Is that too zen?

Am I even capable of zen?

I don't know.

But I am capable of creating goals. And whether or not I achieve the goals, I always want to make sure I've at least taken stock of where I am so that I can better understand what's happening around me even if I'm standing still.

I hope that makes sense.
