Maybe I need to go back and reread Nightwing 50 and see what I think now that I’m (maybe) not reacting as emotionally, but I think Lobdell does a better job of doing, in Nightwing 51, what Percy maaaybe was trying to hint at with “Ric Grayson” and the whole “you only care about him you don’t care about me?” Like I...don’t know, though, bc the whole layout of it was a mess and I think also he was trying to convey way more information than he had space for so to me the plot of the issue came out a mess. Whereas Nightwing 51 can take a bit more time with things.
But “Ric” in Nightwing 50 seemed like he was just doing things without reason, while “Ric” in Nightwing 51 still seems a bit bereft bc of the amnesia thing, and has complicated feelings on the glimpses of his supposed past and of Dick’s life, but also seems like more of a solid character in and of himself. Like a relatable age-appropriate level of “idk what I’m doing with my life 8)” lost vs “I’ll do fckn whatever, because I’m a fkcn maniac” vibe.
Hal from Aquaman 2016 Annual 1, in this Hal fucking lost his arm.
Barry from The Flash 2016 #26, and his children turned villains, in an alternative future, I think.
HalBarry as old men for future references ~. About Hal in GLC movie will be an old veteran, I read a fanfic in Chinese that has Hal as an ex-airforce who already turned 40. He met and found a place with a just graduated Barry, who was like 25. And the story was beautiful. Now we’ll probably have something similar in DCEU, an age gap Halbarry *sighs happily*
