He didn't often make use of the observation window in the cargo hold; it was generally closed, and Garrus was often busy. It was always easier to throw himself into his work.
but it was late, everyone else had retired, and he found himself sitting on a crate next to that broad window. His talons hooked together in his lap, his visor scanning nearby star clusters, looking for constellations he'd never seen before.
"I've never been out in dark space for so long." Garrus heard his CO coming, her footsteps unique in its gait. He checked over his shoulder before blue eyes turned back to the observation window. "Definitely not this far out. Last time was... the trip I took out from Palaven to the Citadel. I was... sixteen, I think."
