Update

Looks like I’ll be heading back to work tonight. Not a good night to be heading back with all the snow, but that’s not why I am back on here. I got a call from my school a few days ago and I ignored it because I figured it was about the school closing I was already aware of. I assumed they left a voicemail, as there was a message telling me I had a new voicemail. I ignored the message for a while, but just because I was sick of seeing it, I opened it just so it would go away. I figured I’d listen for the hell of it. At first, there was this static sound, then this almost distant sounding ringing noise. The sound got louder, and I realized it was that sound I heard several days back when I started my job. That weird rusty sound. The really creepy one. I don’t know why I kept listening. I guess I was hoping for some explanation to it, but it just kept going on and on and getting louder. Eventually the message ended and I went back to listen to it. I was hoping I could hear anything else that would make the sound make sense, but nothing could explain that sound. I’m not sure what would have caused that, but it really freaked me out. Really makes me not want to work tonight, but I don’t really have an option. At least it’s warm there.

Ke$ha cast as lead role Cinderella on Broadway

Due to an unfortunate accident in the Jepson family, Carly Ray Jepson will no longer be able to perform as Cinderella for the upcoming 12 week showing of Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Initially, this news threatened the upcoming hit until Ke$ha stepped up to the plate and offered to take on the role. Ke$ha, known for radio hits such as Crazy People, is very excited about her new job. In an exclusive interview, she shared that she has dreamt of a moment like this for a vast majority of her life. She also said she looks forward to adding her own unique style to this beloved classic.

Update

So that lady I was telling you all about? She was in the restroom, but she had slit her throat and was very dead when I went in. The police finally left and I only have about thirty minutes left on my shift, but we're closed for now. I seriously don't know if I can do this job anymore. To know somebody died here and I had no idea is freaking me out big time. The store is probably going to be closed for a while. The police need to take pictures and the bathroom week need cleaning. It didn't help that nobody can get in touch with the owner. He apparently wasn't at his house this morning.

I'm really freaked out. The woman didn't appear to have made this a quick and painless death. The was a lot of blood in a lot of places. I'm shocked she managed to keep so quite about it. I imagine I won't be back for a few days, so I'm going to enjoy this time off. Lord knows I need it.

Update

Second day at the job and I can’t complain. Did some mopping, had the clean the nasty bathrooms, and one customer didn’t understand the pre pay concept, which was fun to try and get into their head. At around 2 some woman ran in the door frantic and asked if she could use the restroom, which of course she could. So she goes off to the bathroom and I noticed that there aren’t any cars outside. I’ll admit, that rattled me a bit, but thank God for the panic button under the desk. She’s been in there a good twenty minutes. I’m ready to go knock on the door and make sure she’s okay, but the idea is really freaking me out. I don’t want to leave the counter. Totally not something I was prepared for when I started here.

Okay, so it’s been a solid thirty minutes and I’m worried. I’m going to go check on her.

So I went and knocked on the door and I didn’t hear anything. I called my boss to ask what to do, and he didn’t pick up. The door was locked, and I think I’m going to give her a bit longer and then unlock it if she didn’t respond.

It’s been an hour’s and there’s been nothing. I’m going to unlock it check on her. I checked around the store, so I know she isn’t anywhere else.

Update

So my first night on the job wasn’t too crazy. It’s actually really easy work so far. Not many people come by at night, which can be good, but also make it really boring. I was really freaked out at one point, though. Did anybody else hear that weird sound? It reminded me of a rusty gate being moved or really loud,  squeaky breaks. It went on for a really long time, too. Nobody who came in knew anything about it, either.

NSA Scarecrows amplify public distrust

Per documentation released by Edward Snowden recently, it was discovered that the sharp spike in scarecrow appearances was not, as previously believed, due to the Meadowstead witches. The scarecrows were actually planted by none other than the NSA. The community has been nothing less than outraged at this discovery. More than anybody, the Meadowstead tourism board. The witches were the subject of brutal, sometimes lethal, attacks over the past few weeks as the scarecrows began showing up all over town. Originally justifiable, this now a negative public image pertaining to a lack acceptance and toleration. This will likely catch mass media attention and potentially damage Meadowstead’s frail tourism industry. Documents released by Snowden said that these actions were part of a spying program and had been a plan for many years now. Still, the public is searching for ways to justify the attacks on the witches and hopefully improve public image once again. Don Vocks, American Legion post 665 leader, says that the witches have always been a community concern, and that the scarecrows weren’t what set the community on its rampage. Don claims it was the recent kidnappings that got to everybody. “We went right into their little village place and went right to work smashing stuff and hurting people,” said Don in a phone interview, “and we did manage to find some of the missing children. We also found some weapons, so we know them witches were up to no good and we stopped them.” It’s unclear at this time what will come of all this. For now, community service workers are carefully collecting the scarecrows, which are to be shipped to the scrublands for dumping.

Update

Tonight is my first night on the job at the gas station. It’s just down the road from where I live, which is nice, and it’s the night shift. I can’t say I’m too excited about being up that late, but it’s a job, and this whole in the wall in the middle of nowhere, I’ll take what I can get. Since it’s a night shift, I figure I’ll do you all the great service of filling your news feed with my boring midnight rambles. I need something to keep me occupied. Definitely don’t want to fall asleep. I’m heading off early to start my training. I’ll update you when cool stuff starts happening.

Local man claims he found Jesus trapped in a sinkhole

Retired navy brat Matthew Sather recently purchased the old house of former Reverend Smith and joined our quaint little township this week. Matthew, 67, was removing various makeshift scarecrows left behind by former owners when he can across a sinkhole. Matthew tells us he was going to fill it with refuse and use it as burn pile until he heard somebody calling out for help. “I was shocked at first. It was dark and I couldn’t see all that deep down, so I asked if anybody was down there. I heard somebody yell back ‘No shit,’ and you can imagine my surprise to find out it was Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour. “I dropped a rope ladder and he managed to make it up that. When he came up, I thought he was just some dessert homeless guy, but it turns out he was the messiah.” Matthew said that Jesus was extremely cold. “I mean, he wasn’t mean or rude or anything, but he killed my favorite hen just because it stopped laying eggs and he said he wanted eggs, which was kind of strange, but, I mean, he’s Jesus.” The return of Jesus sent rifts through local churches and brought many visitors to the property of Matthew, who is currently staying in the Lakeview hotel due to a spike in tourism at his property. “I’m not mad or anything. In fact, I’m all for Jesus. I just kinda wish he’d go somewhere else. I really want to go back home now.”
