Blue eyes were sympathetic as he reached for his lover’s hand, gently cradling the delicate fingers between both of his palms. Bill knew that were their positions reversed he would be complaining just as much, if not more, than Gabriel was. However the writer would allow himself to be hypocritical in this moment because all he wanted was for his lover to get better 

And this was the place to do it. Until the doctors cleared him, Bill would be here by his side.

“I know, but you’re getting better,” he assured with a soft smile. “And once they say you can leave I’ll take you straight home. But I’m not going anywhere, okay? I’ll be here the whole time.”

It took everything she had to keep from crying every single day. The nukes had, other than decimating the entire human population, scalded the oceans and murdered the sea life, all of which Oraia had heard screaming the moment they died. Her time as an artifacts dealer was clearly over, and all the gods who she’d kept in contact with before had escaped to Avalon or the Duat to keep quiet.

So now she was a Purple, pretending to be a human still under her alias Oraia Levantinis. She couldn’t wait until she found Michael Langdon and plunged her magical immortal-killing knife into his heart. But first, dinnertime. She ate a small portion of the ambrosia that had been saved for her, then went to join the other Purples in the dining room.
