MEAT THE FUTURE
The earth’s population is still growing bigger and a lot of those people will want to eat meat. It’s not a big secret, however how can we solve the world’s protein crisis? While it’s possible everyone might switch to insects or tofu, there’s a brand new player in this meat game: lab- grown meat!
You may have heard of in vitro meat from the world’s first lab-grown hamburger. The same technology may soon allow us to produce eco-friendly, animal-friendly meat on a commercial scale, using far fewer resources than “conventional” meat. And it sounds good right? But still many people found it uncomfortable, unnatural or disgusting with the idea of eating the vitro meat.
Before we can decide ilet's explore the food culture it will bring. Bistro in Vitro is the world’s first vitro meat restaurant. Besides hamburgers, steaks and sausages there's even remarkable things like meat fruit and meat ice is on the menu. These dishes are prepared by a team of chefs, artists and designers who wants to represent the vitro meat to show us the world of a new eating culture.
Is your mouth watering too? Then you can take a look in their cookbook called: Meat the future.
