This weekend we harvested the last 85 plus meat chickens that we have. On top of the packaged whole chickens that we have for selling we also have plenty for ourself. Don't forget the 40 chickens that we did last weekend as well. This weekend also includes 14 more quarts of bone in chicken legs and thighs as well as some wings. We have packages of vacuum-sealed chicken as well going into the freezer. Packages of breasts, tenderloins, legs and thighs, packages of half chickens, and we have a whole bunch of carcasses in our freezer ready to make broth when we get back from Homestead of America conference. NEW VIDEO ON @youtube ! Meat chickens at the Hillsdale County Fair ... From the start .. drop off ........ To the end ..... Auction. It actually goes longer as they still have to care for the chickens for a couple more days. We are so proud of the kids on so many fronts. And T.J. and Faith put in a lot of work with ALL of our meat chickens as well as the ones they show in fair. We are still leaning this market meat chicken business in the fair ... But I think we (they) are getting it. I need the utility trailer so the chickens now have the hay wagon for cover. I originally wanted to use the hay wagon but we were doing ...... Hay 😀.
