in defense of the "rowdy is a euphemism for queer" interpretation that nobody likes anymore, the evolution of the word "rowdy" mirrors the real-world lgbtq community's relationship w the word "queer" where it starts as a slur (gotch brothers literally losing their minds at maxwell being called a rowdy) and evolves into a sociopolitical identity (the wind riders encouraging maxwell to "get rowdy" etc.).
