Remember that side mission in ME2 where you board this research station in space and find out the entire crew is dead because the station VI went a little bit haywire?

...Yeah, I loved that mission too! And somebody (Destroyer_of_Insects) wrote a fic about it for the Mass Effect Big Bang! So I signed up right away to illustrate it. :)

As if the mission (N7: Abandoned Research Station btw) wasn't sad enough to begin with, the fic includes a tragic romance between the station VI and the man who is tasked with maintaining her. We all know how it's going to end, but augh, the route there makes the pain so much worse. ;_; Read if you're like me and you love to cry.

For those of you interested in my process, here's my James Vega/Male Shepard Clone piece "Dead and Buried" by @ginbiscuit for Mass Effect Big Bang 2025.

I partnered with the lovely ginbiscuit and had a great time working with some more extreme lighting than I usually do. I'll post the fic link and art in a standalone post as well.

Created in gouache and coloured pencil on 140lb cold press watercolour paper. I forgot to take progress photos of James, oops, hehe. Ah well.

I partnered with @masweird and really enjoyed drawing these two bombshells. I actually forgot he was doing MEBB and I picked this fic because I got excited about the characters involved. Then we got matched and I was like "oh yeah, that tracks it's him that wrote it." See the separate post for fic link and art since I have to wait for the AO3 link to go live.
