My building has a Halloween dog costume contest I was talking to my dad about possible costumes for Medea and he was like “Does MCR have a dog in their new tour?” And I went “short answer no long answer yes.” He looked me dead in the face and without missing a second went “How do we dress her up to look like Frank” HOW DID HE KNOW??? This man does not know the lore!

Anyway let me know the best era of Frank to dress up Medea as?

Today I took my dog to the zoo bcuz she’s in training to be my PTSD service dog and I need to start taking her places and I just got a position at the zoo so it makes sense

I was so nervous to take her because I always feel like people are going to tell me she’s not allowed or that I don’t actually qualify (both are not true I know) but as soon as I got to the zoo the only thing that happened was a guest service person came over and asked me what task she preforms and made a call on his radio just letting everyone know there was a dog on site which isn’t even a bad thing like they should be aware a dog is there

And let me tell you it was unbelievable I have never been so comfortable in public before!!! I’m usually really uneasy, anxious, and jumpy but having her with me made everything melt away I had theeeee best time and the best zoo experience I’ve ever had watching all the animals interacting with her and watching her try to figure out what they were was so adorable and interesting I loved it

Also there were a ton of kids from ages ~5 - 10 and the younger sibling would always be like OMG DOGGIE and the older sibling would grab their hands quickly and be like no this dog is a service animal you can’t pat her and I’d thank them and walk away and her the older sibling explaining to the younger one what a service animal way it was really cute

This one kid was like three steps from me and kept asking his mom questions and she finally was like hey idk ask her it’s her dog and he came up to me and was so respectful and genuinely curious and asked me what she does and how I train her and then we went our separate ways but it was a small zoo so we bumped into each other a few more times and each time he’d come up to me and ask if he could ask another question and they were all really sweet questions like why am I bringing her to the zoo and can she go anywhere with me so it was really nice to talk to him multiple times

But it was just the best day and it made me realize I truly truly do need a service dog like my life can be so much better than it has been I never ever thought I’d be that calm in public especially in a new situation that draws a lot of attention to me but it was really the best day like there is no other way to describe it & she did such a good job training too I hardly had to make any corrections

Medea’s first day of spring @ the beach

Important hack for all pitty owners who are SICK AND TIRED of people jumping out of the way and tripping over themselves or crossing the street everytime they see you walking your dog (who is controlled and on leash and not even looking at them) down the street

Medea is so friendly she thinks everyone is her bff and loves to get pats from strangers, I also walk her with our friends a lot who have doodle mixes so everyone flocks to them and then side eyes Medea and is too scared to even ask to pat her. It breaks my heart cause she wants to greet everyone but won’t approach them.

The other day I picked her up from the groomer and they put a few little gemstones on her forehead which was so cute and I never would have thought to do that. I walked her home and EVERYONE stoped us and gushed over how cute she was and gave her scratches and pats. Everyone approached us and smiled at her and asked me about her.

I haven’t had people react this way to her since she was a puppy she had the time of her life. I bought some more stick on gems and used them for a few more walks and each time she is like a celebrity.

I HIGHLY recommend bedazzling your dog (if it doesn’t bother them- Medea doesn’t care she doesn’t even notice it) I just want Medea to get the love that she deserves and want !!!!

I took my dog to the groomers today and when I went to pick her up she was BEDAZZLED

I have never even considered bedazzling a dog this is huge news for me

I took my dog to the zoo again today :) :) :)

This time tho I got to bring my friends and all our dogs bcuz the zoo has special dog days

It was me and two of my friend and all three of our dogs who are all besties <3

She had so much fun and was very confused by the giraffes and again loved the bison she also loved the elk and the two of them were chasing each other up and down the gate of the enclosure (she’s apparently a big fan of ungulates)

She FINALLY met cows and got to hear them moo I’ve wanted her to meet a cow for like 9 months now idk why but I was convinced she would be intrigued and befriend them and of course she did it was so satisfying I have been waiting so long

They also had a Photo Booth and Medea is finally getting better at sitting for photo booths the photo strip turned out so well I’m obsessed

Super fun day but I am so so so exhausted and Medea has passed out for the night at 6:30 already

Having a dog is sooooo hard bcuz there’s not enough time to give her as many head kisses as she deserves. I want to play with her, and give her treats, and train her, take her on adventures, let her have lazy days and nap when she needs it. But through all of this is the urge to kiss the top of her head and it never stops!!!

My dog did her first Fast CAT event today (she did two runs) how it works is there’s a lure on a string and the dog runs from the releaser (someone who holds them back until the person in charge says to let them go & start running) 100 yards to the catcher (the one who puts their leash on at the other end) I was the catcher and my dad was the releaser

It was so awesome I am absolutely in love with it and Medea lost her mind she had the time of her life. Her first run she went 24.76 mph and her second run she ran 25.66 mph. She got sooooo excited to run to me my dad could barely keep her behind the starting line the second time she ran

Also everyone at this event was crazy nice. It was mostly people 40+ so I was over a decade younger than everyone but so many people came up and complimented Medea and this one older woman asked me how long I’ve been doing this I told her today was literally my first day and she got so excited she was like how do you and your dog like it!! I said so far we both love it but I was confused by the scoring system bcuz after a certain number of points you can get an AKC title and at intervals after that you can earn more and more.

She laughed and was like oh yeah I have no idea how it works it’s very confusing but my husband keeps track of our dogs scores so I’ll have him come over and explain it all to you! And after the event they found me in the crowd (I had totally forgotten I asked them) and he helped me download and set up the app that keeps track of your dogs scores.

He also explained that one page tells you how many more runs you are from your next title and he told me to always know how many events I am away from a title because I can make sure I get to one of the clubs that has a really good ribbon (if you get a title you get a rosette like the fancy horses) cause apparently some clubs have way fancier ribbons than other clubs so I have to plan around that

I also was totally unprepared to do Fast CAT bcuz I showed up for another event but finished early and decided to try it so usually everyone has two leashes so the catcher & the releaser both can hook up the dog when they have it but I only had the one leash after my second run I was holding my dog by the collar and carrying her across the field and someone asked me if I needed a leash and just gave me her leash to keep she was like yeah I never bring three idk why I had an extra today and I thanked her profusely and explained that it’s my first day and she was like oh make sure to keep track of when you’re going to get your ribbons!! Some of them are really nice plan around which clubs have the best ribbons!

I’m so obsessed with this event it’s so fun to watch Medea BOOK IT and every one is so nice and really funny and addicted to these ribbons. I can’t even blame them I got two small ribbons just for participating today and I am already dreaming of my big title ribbon
