I was just at a family gathering and I had on my Where the Wild Things are shirt and my aunt saw it and was like that still fits you?? And I was confused and said yeah? It’s pretty new.

She then tells me I had the SAME SHIRT twenty years ago when I was a little kid and I have no memory of this but it’s good to know my fashion sense apparently hasn’t changed in two whole decades since I was 7

Today the zoo I volunteer at opened their BRAND NEW lemur exhibit and it’s GORGEOUS

I’ve never been to a new exhibit ribbon cutting before it was so awesome

There are three kinds of lemurs that are going to end up in the enclosure together (red ruffed, brown collared, and ring tailed) and they were doing introductions between the ring tailed and red ruffs

(There are separate parts of the enclosure and the lemurs were separated but able to approach and interact with each other and see/smell each other)

It was so cool to watch and the absolute best part is attached to the lemur enclosure is the brand new Aldabra tortoise enclosure and the two of them look sooooo happy for the extra space and new environment

It was awesome and I love my zoo and I’m so thrilled there are new primates because I am THEE #1 primate lover

I love my cardiologist love love love him he is the only doctor who actually listens to me and doesn’t just write off everything I say

BUT ☝️ he is a man and sometimes this leads to the funniest interactions

I just saw him and he was like ok “when did you get your POTS diagnosis” and I was like about 4 or 5 years ago and he was like “no before me who ran tests? “ And I was like “no one??? I brought it up to a few doctors and they basically told me to shut up cause it’s not real.” And he looked HORRIFIED

Later in the appointment his (male) nurse practitioner asked me if my periods were still extremely painful & heavy & I was like yeah I’ve seen multiple OBGYNs about it so my cardiologist is like “and what did they say?”

I point blank was like “they said too bad nothings wrong and I have to deal with the pain.”

The two of them fully went silent and my doctor was like “that’s not okay…..that’s not right what do you mean??”

And I’m just sitting there like what do YOU mean do your doctors not fight you on every single symptom and just tell you your pain isn’t real????
