oh we’re feasting today
i’m judging the pjo adaptation by how they portray clarissa, thalia (in later seasons) and annabeth
me: ugh another book to screen adaptation! no more!! don’t give disney ur money fr stopp guys stop this isn’t worth it
me at midnight when pjo disney+ season one drops:
the opening scene of the sea of monsters movie with percy and clarisse and the obstacle course and fob is something that can be so personal
thalia grace disney+ characterization but she’s black
anyway ENOUGH about pjo disney+ the tkc first draft script is sitting out there right now approved by rr and being edited...it’s out there..it exists.
ok the trouble series has always suited a film trilogy adaptation in my mind but after watching “dare me” i’ve been persuaded to consider a tv series arc and i’m Listening and i have Thoughts. (but keep in mind that all of the following comments and logic also suit a three movie series on netflix)
the way usa adapted “dare me” was so satisfying cinematically and script-wise they were on the dot because megan abbott was a creator! so if stephanie tromly is on board (which she should be because she does screenwriting as well as fiction novels) we’d get to see those moments she so vividly portrayed in her books.
the dialogue in the trouble series is so snappy and quick that you can’t help but visualize teenagers going through those situations and building friendships and engaging in banter because it simply feels like it, and that would be SUCH a hit on screen so if they pull a “dare me” and get one season on a major network (cw, usa etc) then netflix gets a hold of it for two more: that tv series would be a guaranteed worldwide hit.
netflix has mastered the art of timing and taking over production on teen media: we’ve seen it MANY times. and the plot of the trouble series + a ton of netflix promo + efficient (read: famous and talented) casting would ensure the show some major traction within its audience
i tell myself i don’t care about the pjo disney plus adaptation but then i remember i’ll get to see [insert character] brought to life on screen and i scream a little
