I finished reading both Kin by Tayari Jones and Psychopomp & Circumstance by Eden Royce this week. Both were very good. I've just started Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe, and it's delightful. Rufi's writing is superb. I've already underlined multiple passages.
I'm watching Eddington. Half way through. This movie makes my blood boil which I expected. That's why I've put it off for so long. We'll see how the last hour plays out.
Discovered S.G. Goodman this week. I've ordered her sophomore album "Teeth Marks". The new Holly Humberstone album is out on Friday which is very exciting. Plus, Olivia Rodrigo's third album announcement!!
A good week!
This week I watched episodes of The Pitt and Our Lady Jane. I've been focused more on baseball because of the WBC and the approaching mlb season. I did go see The Bride last Sunday. And while it wasn't perfect, I enjoyed its big swings immensely.
My week has been filled with great music. Right now, I'm spinning Aly & AJ's "A Touch of the Beat". But I wanted to shout out Grace Ives whose new album released on Friday and it's great! My number one most listened to artist was Molly Tuttle. Her solo album from last year, "Little Miss Sunshine", has excellent instrumentation and really hops around in genre in the best way. Reminds me a lot of Sheryl Crow.
I finished reading the first book in the Emma Lion series. I will probably continue, but it's not front of mind. I'm still reading Kin by Tayari Jones and ACOK by GRRM and enjoying. The only new book I added to the rotation was Psychopomp & Circumstance by Eden Royce.

This week in media I watched episodes of My Lady Jane, House of the Dragon (season one, rewatch), The Pitt, and The Dinosaurs. This week's episode of The Pitt was maybe my favorite episode of the show so far. Every scene was so layered with character work.
As for film, I'm trying to get through Frankenstein. I've been watching this movie in 10 mintues sections for months. Ugh. It's much better starting just before midway. So I'm going to finish this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to see The Bride. Keeping it very on theme.
I've listened to a ton of music, but my faves have been the new Mitski album, revisiting Travis, and discovering Glitterfox.
As for reading, I'm focused on Kin by Tayari Jones right now. It's excellent! I'm also dipping in and out of The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower and A Clash of Kings (reread, obviously). Enjoying everything immensely.
