Well damn.
Now Gotham Knights is on Prime I'm finally able to watch it and HUH. It's like... actually pretty good?
I was busy with other stuff at the time, so when it was airing I only got very brief glimpses of gifs and things, mostly Misha ofc cos my dash remains heavy on the spn, so I never knew much about the rest of the characters or story and... oh... I'm SURPRISINGLY INVESTED?!
Actually shipping main het pairing Turner/Duela?? Seriously here for Stephanie's apparent gay awakening? Got SAD when Brody died?? (only TWIST - he isn't?? ...I'm just on ep11...). Cullen and Harper ftw, I adore their sibling bond and Harper's tech skills and Harper and Steph's bickering into being geeks together into budding romance. Carrie is a great Robin, really enjoying her and Duela's growing friendship and Duela calling her 'little bird.' Generally just so incredibly HERE for their found family, it feels really well developed and played out?
In a weird twist, the one element I've been less impressed with WAS MISHA. His Harvey seemed... eh, mostly just... Misha, being Misha, you know? But oh damn, we just hit the dream sequence face-off with his alter and oh he was actually compelling as Dent's villainous side, genuinely impressed (and ngl, having MISHA being part of the Batman canon - as wildly outside of the standard this version is - and saying shit like 'Gotham' and 'Joker' and 'Arkham' and generally referencing my second biggest fandom obsession outside spn and so merging 2 of the key parts of my fandom life like is... idek, it's sending me I guess!)
This DESERVED a second season. Why did they not??
(is it DC's fault? did they pull the plug on this the same way they did Gotham?)
