So would Hermes be relieved if the mc also studied medicine? Eventually taking over as medic of the team?

They would be quite relieved, yes - gives them more time to do inventing and lessen the load off their back.

Of course, while they usually wouldn't engage medical stuff with people, if its MC wanting to discuss whether it'd be out of pure passion for medicine or just wanting to have a topic with Hermes, they'll help MC brainstorm for experiments.

Just don't ask them for gruesome details of vehicular accidents.
