EEYYY so I am alive and not too stressed over school work yet and also apparently Best Supporting Actress for MediScene this year <3333
I had a great time working on it even if it was tiring and even if there were times when it would only be the cast + director and stage manager :)) I love you guys and it definitely wouldn't have been as good without you <3
(kudos to Pia for being an extremely talented director because her creative direction is A++++++)
Pour Some Sugar on Me
This week in college we are doing a block of both endocrinology, radiology and neurology so I was thinking of concentrating the majority of my posts on those two areas. I will posting about what we do each day in college, anything I find particularly interesting, I and also any interesting articles I find online. Again if you have any posts that you like in these areas feel free to send them on.
Thanks again for your continued dedication to my blog. I know I have been fairly poor at queuing posts both during and before Christmas. I hope to get back into the swing of things now as we begin a new year.
Here is a link to Tom Cruise's rendition of ''Pour Some Sugar on Me'' to make up for that. I also couldn't stop singing it this morning as we examined diabetic foot and learned how to read blood glucose levels.

Diary Update
Placement has started so we are now moving in to the realms of the clinical. I haven't actually met the consultant I'm shadowing yet. Aside from that I have no desire to either. Apparently the man is a tyrant. Nonetheless placement is still pretty cool though. Bedside teaching sessions and case study tutorials are incredibly interesting. Dressing sharp is also quite a pro. In general though stress is high. The transition from second year to third year wasn't exactly a smooth one. It was quite a shock going from the open sea of free time and sailing into the trashing storm of morning clinics, evening tutorials and dense lectures.
First off I'd like to day a big thank you to all of my loyal followers. The blog has been through somewhat of a drought this summer. I didn't plan on leaving the blog so long but this summer has been one to remember. It started in the home of education just outside Harvard in Boston. Unfortunately I wasn't studying in the college but instead I was moving furniture all summer. The holiday ended with a road trip across the states. I hope to resume normal service next week when I return to college next week.
The Glasgow Coma Score
I came across this as I was studying stroke and transient ischaemic attack. It is an interesting little chart. However, I used it to calculate how unconscious each one of my housemates are whenever we try and wake each other up in the morning. I scored a 11/15.
Exam Update - Neurology
Okay exams started last monday so my blogging has become somewhat haphazard both here and on my personal blog.
We started with the neurology exam. The exam was an unusual format. It started with integrated biochem, physiology and anatomy questions. Then there was a bunch of anatomy MCQs and it finished with themed physiology and biochem SAQs. The integrated questions centred on the basal ganglia and the physiology SAQs were incredulously specific. However I definitely did enough to pass and hopefully get a good grade.

This man is one of the most famous surgeons in the world. He was pioneer antispetic and aseptic surgery techniques. He used carbolic acid to clean instruments, wards and hands in his surgery.
