"You're not getting it, Honey," Michelle said. "You don't get to say no to a game."
Callum backed into the wall as she stepped forward. "Please, everything still hurts from last time…"
"Oh, but won't that make everything so much more fun?" She smiled softly and put a deceptively gentle hand in his hair. "Come on. You know you don't get to say no."
"Please, I… I can't-"
No sooner had the words fallen from his lips that the grip in his hair tightened. She dragged him across the room as he thrashed and yelled, pushing him to his knees onto the rug, littered with rocks that she'd collected for games like this.
Callum hit the floor with a strangled cry, feeling strands of his hair yanked from his head with the force of Michelle's grip. The sharp stones dug into his legs, and he bit back a scream so hard that blood started to pour from his mouth, where his teeth cut through his bottom lip.
"Oh, Honey, you shouldn't have done that," Michelle crooned. "That's gonna leave a scar."
He tried to reply, but the only thing that came out of his mouth was a pained moan.
"Look how easy it could have been," she said, a delightful chill running down her spine as she watched the blood drip down Callum's chin. "How about I add five minutes to make up for lost time, hm?"
"N-no!" Callum gasped. "P-please-"
Callum screamed as she used her foot to press his leg down harder onto the stones, feeling them pierce into his skin like he was kneeling on a bed of nails.
"Shush, Honey," she whispered, wiping away the tears that had started rolling down his cheeks. "You're gonna stay still and quiet, and you're gonna wait until the time's up, okay?"
He didn't know why he kept trying to fight when it always made things so much worse. When he could just do what she said, and stop trying so hard to be Callum, when trying to be Honey hurt so much less.
Honey nodded as a shooting pain ran up his legs and he choked back a sob.
"Good!" Michelle smiled. "You're doing so well already."
Shorter piece today, but with more of Michelle being The Worst™️.
Lucas is trying really hard to be defiant. It isn't going well.

"You know why you wear this?" Michelle asked, Lucas' collar hanging from her finger. "Hm, Sugar? You know what it means?"
"That you're a sadistic b-bitch?"
The slight smile dropped from Michelle's face. "Oh, you're really pushing it today."
She slammed the back of his head into the ground and he cried out, eyes watering. He tried to get away, but she had him pinned to the floor. He wasn't going anywhere.
"It means that you don't take it off," she snapped. "First trying to sneak back downstairs, and now this? You're being such a brat."
"F-fuck you," he managed to stutter out, but whatever victory he was hoping to get out of it was wasted when she grabbed his chin, digging her nails in and forcing him to face her.
"You want another scar, baby?" Michelle traced the scar over his heart. "Because I can give you another one if you don't feel like behaving."
Lucas' hand curled into a fist as the memories raced through his head. He didn't say anything, just winced as her nails dug further into his skin.
"You gonna let me put it back on? Or am I gonna get the knife again?"
"N-no, don't-" Lucas swallowed. "I'll stay still."
Not that he had any other choice.
She wrapped the black leather around his neck, fastening the clip at the back, and flicking the little silver heart charm at the front. Lucas flinched, and she couldn't help but smile again. The charm made her boy look so much prettier, the silver matching nicely with his sky blue eyes.
"I'll get a lock for it if you take it off again, okay baby?" she said, caressing his cheek with her thumb. "I don't want to have to do that. But if you can't keep it on…"
"I won't- I won't take it off."
"Promise?"
"I-I promise."
She kissed him softly on the forehead, and used the collar to pull him to his feet. Lucas shivered as he hit the wall, the thin tank top he was wearing doing nothing to stop the cold biting into him.
"You gonna answer my first question now?" Michelle asked, not letting go. "You know why you wear it?"
Lucas refused to make eye contact. "Because it… it shows I belong to... you."
"Look at me." There was an edge in her voice that made Lucas snap to attention. "You're right. And I don't ever want you to forget that. You're mine. You don't disrespect that by taking off your collar. You don't want to make me upset, do you?"
"N-no."
"Good." She let go of the collar and rested her hand on Lucas' face. He flinched away and started to shake, and she smiled. "Aw, you're so cute when you're frightened. I love you, Sugar."
He knew what she wanted to hear. "I-I love you t-too."
Warnings: Kidnapping, drugging, implied stalking, honestly resident lady whumper Michelle is her own warning at this point
"Really living my best life," Lucas mumbled to himself, pulling an almost empty box of cornflakes off the shelf. He had an assignment due in the morning, but at this point, he was too tired to care. He just wanted to lie face down on his bed and zone out.
He went to grab milk out of the fridge, then sighed as he saw the empty milk carton. He must have put it back in the fridge in the middle of the night without paying attention or something. He threw it into the recycling bin and checked the time. 10:37PM. He had enough time to run to the store before it closed.
He threw on a coat and shoes, stuffed his wallet and phone in a pocket, and ran out the door.
It was colder than he thought it would be, even for November. He shivered as he walked down the street in the dark, only the rare few people passing by, trying not to think about how pissed the professor was going to be when he handed in another late assignment.
Whatever. That was a problem for future Lucas.
"Hey, um, I think you dropped something?"
He turned to see a tall woman, with loose blonde hair and hazel-brown eyes, holding out his phone. He furrowed his eyebrows and checked his pockets just in case. Nope, it wasn't there. Weird. He thought he would have heard it hit the ground.
"Oh, uh, thanks!" He smiled awkwardly and approached her with his arm outstretched.
As soon as his hand closed over his phone, she grabbed him and shoved him into a wall. He hit his head against it and the daze and shock distracted him from the sharp prick in his left hand.
"The fuck?" he whispered, groping around for something to grab onto to get him up. "What the… fuck?"
"Oh, you poor dear, let me help you up," he heard the woman's voice, and without waiting for a reply she pulled him to his feet. He tried to push her away, but all he ended up doing was stumbling backwards into the wall again. He opened his mouth to shout for help, but it felt like something was stuck in his throat and all that came out was a gasp.
"Well there's no point in trying to get away now," she said, all trace of genuine sweetness gone from her voice, leaving only a fake syrupy tone like she was talking to a toddler. "You'll pass out in a few minutes."
"I… what?" Lucas blinked hard to try and clear his head. "Fucking… who even... gnh..."
"My name's Michelle," she smiled, like nothing was wrong. "And you're Lucas Blunt, right? Well, not anymore I guess. You're gonna need a much nicer name than that. Lucas Blunt. Ugh."
"I don't… understand..." Lucas swayed on his feet and Michelle caught him as he fell.
"Oh, you're so much prettier up close," she whispered as Lucas limply struggled in her arms. "You're gonna be the perfect addition to our little family. I just had to make sure first."
"You… you fucking creep," Lucas gasped, as she started walking him towards a car. Everything in him was begging, screaming at him to run, why can't you fucking RUN?
But he couldn't get his legs to move.
"Aw, Honey said that too." Michelle grinned as she laid him down in the backseat. "Don't worry, you're gonna be so happy with us, I promise! Just give it a little time, hm?"
Every little movement Lucas tried to make was so stiff and weak. Fuck. Fuck. What the fuck was happening to him? Where the hell was she taking him? What was she going to do? Was he going to die?
He didn't even have the energy to be scared about it through the drugged haze.
Fuck.
Michelle waited until his eyes fluttered closed to start driving. He looked so cute passed out like that. Soft and sweet, like sugar.
-Very extreme pacifist (her ending is where somehow everyone survived and now she’s working on rebuilding friendships.
-Emotional to no end. She cried because she accidentally stepped on Faust’s tail while going to the bedroom to wake Asra up for breakfast and Asra had to comfort her. “I’m a bad mo-o-o-om!” “Wilmina pls it was only an accident” “Am fine!”
-Hates being spoiled or fussed over, so in the AUs where she’s with Nadia or Lucio, she passes off stuff to servants and gives them “personal wellness” breaks.
-Uses her water powers as sort of a fidget. I. E. Water bubbles to poke at, symbols and drawings, random swirlies.
-Bad at spelling, but has neat handwriting.
-curvy but slightly flatchested.
-tried to adopt an elephant as a familiar but her parents stopped her and got her Bip instead.
I have always known that, no matter what else I do in life, I want to make the world a better place. If I can achieve this goal while doing something I love, I know I will have lived well. Of the things that I most enjoy, working with technology is near the top of the list. Needless to say, when the world starting using social media in revolutionary movements, from the protests in Iran during the 2009 elections to the more recent Egyptian revolution, I wanted to know more.
The amount of misinformation on the topic of social media and revolutions was quite astounding. Reporters seemed all too eager to label every new uprising a “Twitter revolution.” An undue amount of interest was paid to the role of social networking sites in the protests and demonstrations, and not enough attention was given to the people behind these rallies. Some people seemed to think that sites like Twitter and Facebook had been integral in the planning and execution of such large movements. Others seemed to scoff every time they saw the names of these services connected to large events. From what I had seen online, neither of these standpoints were correct. I wanted to know what the media should be telling us.
Research showed me that social media was not the best thing to ever happen to the world, nor was it completely useless. Sites like Twitter and Facebook can be used to help plan and execute social movements, but they must be used correctly. The Internet cannot inspire people to do something that they would not have cared about otherwise; it simply brings people together to create something that is bigger than the individual.
This portfolio is a summation of the effects of social media in the context of social change. It is an evaluation of the importance of social technologies and an exploration of the ways they can be used to affect the social dynamic, for good or bad.
In Tunisia, following a release by WikiLeaks, a man set himself on fire in front of the capitol building, sparking a protest that would lead to the toppling of a regime. The revolution in itself was not terribly shocking—Tunisia had suffered under an oppressive dictator for years. But within days, Egypt also erupted into protest. An enraged President Hosni Mubarak vowed to do anything in his power to stop the rallies and started censoring access to Twitter and Facebook, eventually shutting down Internet access throughout Egypt. Soon thereafter, Libyans gathered to protest longtime dictator, Muammar Gaddafi. Desperately afraid of losing power, Gaddafi reportedly shut down the Internet in Libya. The media was soon awash with stories about the “social media revolutions.” The events in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya make it clear that, regardless of its actual influence, the Internet is perceived to be a powerful tool in revolutionary movements. But how is it that Twitter, a site used often as not to discuss Britney Spears rather than important political interests, could drive a protest? How could Facebook, known for its Farmville-obsessed users, inspire change? The answer is that these sites did not inspire change—the role of technology in the Middle East demonstrations was misrepresented by the media. However, it cannot be denied that social technologies were a factor in these revolutionary movements. […] Research proved that a number of dissenting individuals interacted on these sites. Due to this prominence of social media in the revolutions, it would be wrong to say that technology played no role in what happened. Social media has proven to be an important tool used for communication, connection, and organization of social movements.
