Go go go
Someone once told me 'the hardest thing about med school is getting in' and my first year self laughed in delighted agreement. Fast forward to final year and I think back in bewilderment as to how I ever fell for that. Personally the most difficult thing so far (be mindful I've yet to work so this is a very short sighted view) is how the erratic pace doesn't seem to end. There's never a time when there isn't more you could be doing. Going to courses, audits, extra curricular activities that "look good" on your CV. In fact exams are just the base, and who eats pizza with no sauce or toppings. But sometimes you have to realise you can't have all the toppings or your pizza will just fall apart, stop looking at other pizzas and just choose what works for you. We are currently on holidays and my whole plan is to recharge, travel, hang out with all my friends I couldn't see during exams and LIVE. One of my friends on the other hand has numerous projects, two conferences (presentations included), a course, posters etc. My initial reaction on hearing this was an arousal of my dormant competitive spirit. Thankfully I have since then doused the fire because I can't. No.
