We’re still blown away by the enthusiasm the fandom’s shown for our miniBang (it’s now 25 fics and 25 pieces of art!!). And so to thank everyone who signed up, we’ve decided to rec their work in these posts and also to help you to get to know them better. You see, besides old favourites, we’ve also got quite a few newcomers!

We know that we’ve advertised the miniBang as “one last event before the movie” and now the premier’s moved to November, but the Bond fandom has no time to sigh!

Ask your partner: “If you were an ice cream flavour what flavour would you be and why?” What was their answer?

I’ll go with a recipe I invented for an ice-cream contest called “Dance of the Sugar Rum Cherry”.  First, the name is a pun (based on Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy) developed by Duke Ellington when he reimagined the classic as a jazz piece. 

I like puns, and ballet, and jazz, so there’s that.  The actual ice-cream starts with a very rich vanilla custard base to which pureed frozen dark cherries, mini dark chocolate chips and rum/rum extract are added.  It’s decadent, unusual, and a bit boozy… so that’s me, pretty much (or so I like to think in my writing, at least).

also yeah i am not a good enough writer to try and tackle mizomuno fdgsags the hannibal au is focused on season three and the major plot beats there. its also not a one-to-one estimate either! i call it the hannibal au bc im trying to emulate the style and stealing some of the best ideas from hannibal, not bc im following the story. which is to say theres no cannibalism lol

Probably Bond/Q/Alec, though I've only written one and read few as well.  I am intrigued, tho.  I don't really read rare pairs for Bond.

uh, I have 33 Bond fanworks, so this is hard.  Probably "Threshold" and "a price most dear..." with "Bond's Break-ins" as an honorable mention.

just wanted to say that i loved reading your tags on that last post, it really helped me finding that motivation to support other creators without feeling afraid 💖💖💖

Ah thank you! It’s been dawning over me slowly that discomfort of this sort (caused by social anxiety in particular) is temporary, and can certainly be alleviated by lovely messages like this, and by the sheer act of supporting other creators in whatever way we can. Sure, not every creator is going to respond the way you want to, but I’ve seen enough of posts like the one I reblogged from you to ascertain that most of us feel starved for validation and praise, and yet somehow people keep consuming our content without acknowledging our hunger. 

I’ve definitely committed recently to become the kind of reader I’d like to have—leaving comments on everything I enjoy. Sometimes the words won’t come, and that’s okay. It’s hard work to give feedback, too. But fundamentally, to me, the beauty of transformative works, a non-traditional forum like fandom, is community. That creators give and receive in return. Everyone is here because of a really intense love for something, and it’d be a damn shame if we hoarded our enthusiasm out of fear.
